Biden's free fall

Biden's approval ratings are in a free fall, with good reason. Pluralities disapprove of the president's performance, based on the RealClearPolitics and FiveThirtyEight polling averages. His approval rating is in the mid-40s, a drop of about 10 percentage points from just five weeks ago. Here are a few reasons, in no particular order:

(1) The Afghanistan fiasco and the terrorist attack at the Kabul airport killing 13 American soldiers and at least 90 Afghans;

(2) Failure to end the COVID crisis despite the gift of safe and effective vaccines former President Trump provided him through Operation Warp Speed;

(3) The crisis on the southern border, which Biden brought upon due to his reversal of Trump administration policies;

(4) High levels of crime in major cities across the U.S. while at the same time his progressive allies promote far-left ideas like defunding the police and Critical Race Theory;

(5) A disappointing August jobs report due to the administration encouraging welfare over work -- only 235,000 jobs were added to the economy in August, far off the estimates of 728,000 or more.; and

(6) Inflation and record debt due to out-of-control spending, which is getting pushback from even some in his own party. For example, Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin stated in an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal recently that not only will he not support a spending bill approaching $3.5 trillion, but that any further spending should be put on pause because of inflation risks and so we have ammunition to deal with future crises. (Make no mistake, if Manchin follows through this puts much of Biden's progressive agenda in jeopardy.);

So what does Biden do when he's under pressure? He lashes out and lies, just like he's done his entire career.

Joe TaliBiden will plummet further. As the article shows, there is nothing his admin is doing right. Afghanistan, southern border, gas prices, inflation, big city crime, handling of the pandemic ... they are all moving in the wrong direction. Demands for ransoms for American hostages will sink him. And even the usual lapdog media slobberers won’t be able to resurrect him.

I read that he was booed at an LSU football game a couple of days ago, where they chanted “F* Joe Biden.” And I saw a video where utility workers doing storm repair on the highways in LA were lined up when his motorcade passed and ALL turned their backs on him when the motorcade went by.

I saw a couple of press vehicles at the end of the motorcade, but for some reason, they didn’t report this incident…wonder why?

He is profoundly unpopular all over the country and the media is covering for him.

The demographics in many recent polls seem skewed to favor Biden by over sampling his base of support, while Biden's rating among independents is weak and in recent decline, which suggests a further erosion of support. I have noticed that the few Biden supporters I know personally have gone from out and proud to either silent or sour and belligerent as a warning to avoid politics. They seem genuinely confused as to why things are not going well for Biden and the country.

The economy -- always a crucial political factor -- is not moving in Biden's favor. Employment is weak, inflation is beginning to bite, and more pain for Democratic constituencies seems in the offing in that extended unemployment benefits and the rent moratorium are expiring. That could not only pull Biden down further, but offers a major risk to the Democratic party in next year's elections. A poll among Democratic Congressional staffers indicates that they expect to lose control of Congress.

Nevertheless, Biden and his allies can draw hope from the prospect that events may yet turn in their favor. Stranger things have happened.

His approval is 20%.

Afghanistan really makes a lot of sense-and no one should be surprised- when one sees that an illegitimate usurper of an office to his own ends does what he pleases with the country and Americans.
