Just thought I'd throw this out there...Hochul has extended the unconstitutional eviction moratorium for New York through 1/15/22. She also stated that she would be "hiring more case workers to process ERAP funds." Well I work for a county in NY (IT dept) and I asked one of my colleagues who works specifically with the state workers/DSS if in fact they are "hiring more caseworkers to process ERAP applications" as he would be the first to know (creating active directory accounts, etc). He said he doesn't know of any expanded rental assistance caseworker hirings so this is all Lucy and her football for Landlords.
The hiring was supposed to take place back in May of this year according to then Gov Nursing Home killer. This should have already happened since they started taking ERAP applications June 1st and have disbursed approx. 8% of the funds allocated. I believe NY is the state with the lowest disbursement rate despite all the Covid hair-on-fire propagamda.
The replying to all numbskulls get really amazing when there are thousands of people on the mailing list!

I wonder if banks have a moratorium on foreclosing mortgages of people who own rental housing.
Then there are utilities, insurance and property taxes to pay...
Yup,so not only the bank can take your property...as can the city for failure to pay property taxes.
I have been paying my rent all this time. Today I and others received a rent increase. I guess to pay for all those not paying their rent.
Sadly that is true.
