According to the sheriff's office, the man's wife told deputies that she was inside her home when she heard commotion.
When she stepped outside, she saw a large alligator attacking her husband, officials said.
The woman ran to help her husband. Once the attack was over, she pulled him out of the water and ran inside to get first aid supplies.
When she realized the severity of his injuries, she got into her boat and went to higher ground, approximately a mile away.
The sheriff's office said that when she returned home, her husband was no longer lying on the steps.

Toss a couple of pieces of chicken in the water. Wait for some 10’ gator to come swimming by and push the guy in the water. Buh-Bye. OMG, I don’t know how it happened. Sure you don’t. Her previous husband died during Katrina, it was just awful, a venomous snake got into his bed.

- Could be just as reported which of course is horrible or ...
- Her story explains the hubbie's blood all over her and the house
- Her trip for help explains the "guess the gator came back" possibility to explain the missing body
- LEOs should check his life insurance policies and beneficiar(y)(ies) and any domestic abuse calls for the parties ...

Maybe I’m not familiar with Louisiana topography. But how in the uncle of Ed Orgeron do you use a boat to travel to “higher ground”?

My mother went to a Catholic school in Lake Charles in the 40s-50s and a gator had to be removed almost every day from the schoolyard lake/pond.

It was around 82 degrees at the time of the attack in Slidell on Monday. The low that morning was around 72, then it got warmer towards the early afternoon.
