On the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, some forecasters said Hurricane Ida would be as intense as last year’s Laura and the Last Island Hurricane of 1856. Both were among the strongest storms on record to make landfall in Louisana.
According to CNN, about half a million people were without power in the region.
On Saturday, state and federal officials worked to get evacuation orders signed and emergency declarations in order. Sporting events and casinos were closed or postponed for the weekend. Mississippi schools were announced closed for Monday.
The situation is already serious and there is no need for the media to make things even more serious.
A quick clip caught a man doing a cartwheel during Weather Channel reporter Jim Cantore’s live shot on Sunday amid Hurricane Ida.
The ten-second clip shows the man, wearing a blue shirt, making the gymnastic move and stumbling out of the live shot. Cantore leaned forward to brace himself against the wind, wearing a baseball batting helmet.

In another video, Jim is looking like he is on his last legs but the situation at the moment is probably not that serious as a utility worker trolls him.

In another video weather channel, anchors look like they are blown away by the wind but right next to them there are people just passing by and act totally normal.

In September 2018, Weather Channel reporter Mike Seidel got dragged on social media for his challenging walk amid the Hurricane Florence winds. The weathercaster walked in a large puddle of water in Wilmington, N.C., while two younger men walked behind him and away from the camera without any difficulties.
The channel defended Seidel, saying that “it was important to know that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete.”
“Utility worker” with no foul weather gear of hard hat?
Holywierd is probably importing fans for added effect.
Funniest ever was the girl in a canoe paddling like it was so deep, and 2 men walked past her!! Still HILARIOUS after a ll these years.
The ten-second clip shows the man, wearing a blue shirt..............
That’s the reddest blue shirt I’ve ever seen.......................
It will be played down so no one points the finger of blame where it should be at biden.
That was one for the books!
No PPE would get one in serious trouble.
The worker was blocked from the wind by the Marriott hotel. Cantore was standing where the wind is funneled between the high-rises, actually speeding the wind up. Still funny though.
The goal is to make people think it's too dangerous to go outside so they sit indoors and watch the "live coverage" on TV all day.
I haven't watched the local news in a long, long time. But I know family members who will literally sit on the couch for the entire day watching this live storm coverage. I want to scream at them to get outside and experience the weather for themselves. But they are sufficiently frightened.
Now I realize all of this was conditioning the populace for the big COVID scare that would put them in fear for the rest of their lives (and completely dependent on the gub'mint to protect them).
I didn’t remember that one, but I saw another, of one of these clowns struggling against the wind, then two guys walked by, like it was a typical summer day. That was funny too. 👍
Yes, it’s called the ‘Venturi Effect’..................
I wonder if Jim tipped that dumpster over himself or if his camera crew helped him.
Fake news, it’s real.
It’s hilarious to see Weather Karens get punked.
Back in the day, radio traffic reports would consist of the reporter going to the airport and live reporting with the idling chopper filling the background noise.
Saved quite a bit on fuel.
The reports were rarely wrong.
While Al Roker was being blown around on camera Sunday, a guy in shorts was just standing a while and then walking around a park area on the beach a couple hundred feet behind him
It was wicked there, but that guy didn’t seemed fazed by it
Piece I saw was on Twitchy
Weather Channel...a den of hopeless and vacant fools.
Heard about an “airborne” traffic reporter sitting in a studio with someone pounding on his back to emulate helicopter roter effects while delivering his reports.
