Note: how many articles have you read of Police intervening when BLM/Antifa overwhelm Conservatives who gather in too few numbers to be safe? I honestly cannot remember a single report about this.
Most Conservative gatherings to protest against Marxists are rather small gatherings and those few poor souls are usually subjected to beat downs by large gatherings of Leftists. And, the reporting usually is, the Police did not intervene. They just stood by and watched. Why? Because they value their careers and pensions FAR MORE than they value Law and Order, or the protection of their fellow Americans.
