Is This Proposal a Viable Plan To Neuter The GOP in Congress In 2022?

Posted on 08/23/2021 9:45:08 AM PDT by Be Careful

This plan is predicated on the assumption that the GOP will win back a majority in one or both chambers in 2022......I am curious to hear thoughtful comments .......Plan: If the GOP wins a majority in one or both chambers, then I think that our America First representatives, having run as GOP candidates, should, en masse, re-register as Independents, enough to deprive McCarthy and/or McConnell of the gavel and make it known that the "America First Independent Caucus" holds all the power of the vote.

I am hoping that bigger brains than mine may be able to figure out how we can withhold power from McCarthy and McConnell using at least a portion of this proposal.....Thoughts, anyone?

Most are lawyers. They are trained to talk out of both sides of their mouth. JD Vance could be one of them but we need to give him one term and then run the risk of him going John Thune on us. Portman was overdue but kept the seat. Our memories are not as short as they used to be but our lazy factor fits in too.

We continue to get accused of past sins that were not sins at the time whether it’s slavery or a SCOTUS appointee(didn’t happen). We should do the same to our candidates when the history is not so far back. Term limits is the answer-unlikely. We have to do the hard work of constant scrutiny. The weak link is finding someone to step forward. The Sharon Angles/Roy Moore’s out there don’t help.

There’s also the outdated ACU rating system-ineffective. How about a Backstabbers Rating System? No need for ratings. Just one turn-that’s it. A sexual pervert will get the same rating whether he molests someone or get’s caught urinating in public by some Karen.

So 2020 did not teach us once and for all that the GOP and Democrats do not exist as separate entities, and only the Uniparty exists?

He would give up the gavel.

They LIKE Democrats. They LIE to their base.

It seems to me that Ronna McDaniel has already neutered the GOP in Congress and elsewhere.

Enough with the “war gaming” already, let’s get the house back first.

Unless those RINOs are replaced a majority GOP will run to the Dems to find out how they are supposed to vote.

the only way they can accomplish anything is to stick together and force through legislation we support.

Based on historical performance of the GOP, that's not going to happen either, so uh...any other ideas?

It is going to be hard to win the Senate. Even if we pick up one or 2 not much will happen.

More likely the GOP wins the house but is that true given election fraud.

ALL of the Bush League Republicans MUST be taken out in the primaries.

Rubio and Hoeven, Amnesty Senators, need to be on the top of the list.

And please don’t lecture me about the damage the democommies will do..
THEY ARE ALREADY DOING IT... with help from the bush league chamber of commerce worshipping republiCANT’S...

There is nothing worse than a backstabbing traitor.... not even a democommie..
At least you know what a democommie is going to do...

The bush league chamber of commerce worshipping republiCANT’S must be politically slaughtered... And 2022 is the year to do it...

No!

Even if people believed it would work, not enough would care to act on it.

The GOP “leaders”, are garbage and they make it hard to support the GOP knowing McCarthy and McConnell are horsecrap RINO’s.

“Not sure if it would be beneficial or not.”

Can’t be. You displayed it well when you laid out numbers :

45% Dem, 30% GOP, and 25% Independent

There may be, on paper, a majority of what are supposed to be conservatives, but they will not have the majority of the senate. So none of the conservative bills will make it to the floor with a lib running the show. Nothing will get done in the conservative favor. The only reason they call it a majority for conservatives in the senate is the combined unit.

The only real advantage to this is it will identify the swamp when they stay republican and they don’t support the conservative agenda. Then it’s up to the GOP to put pressure on them to straighten up or lose their funding. (If they have the guts to do it)

Yes, but unfortunately I do not have the wealth needed to lead the kind of conservative movement that might force real change. I'd start with turning off the money spigot to DC. That would require a total overhaul of our tax system. The whole corrupt swamp (as President Trump named it) is the problem. It is a monstrosity that is far beyond the ability of old small-potatoes ideas (such as throwing the RINOs out) to solve. Infighting amongst ourselves is certainly not helpful.

JD Vance? What about Josh Mandel? I do not like or trust Vance.

The establishment supports Vance, I see dozens of commercials every day. Mandel has been on Bannon and a few other shows. He’s willing to speak his mind. Is there something I don’t know? Would like to know why you would support Vance. We don’t need another Portman.

I also like Bledsoe for running against DeWine (RINO).

It's much easier than you think. The Founding Fathers made it that way. It's right there in the Declaration of Independence:

(I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea) - To secure these (inalienable) rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

It's simple: Stop Consenting

I like your idea. I kind of wish we had a multi-party system with a true conservative party. Then we could align with this party or that party, but only if they gave us some of things we wanted like a border wall and an end to illegal immigration, maintain gun rights, etc.

I'm amazed at how few Freepers have any imagination. All they want to do is the same-old-same-old and hope it's going to finally work this time.
