Let’s talk about what to expect as the Afghans head for America

Following Biden’s disastrous pullout, it’s clear that many Afghan citizens will come to America. Even if the administration doesn’t ship them in, they’ll head for our southern border, just as every other Third World immigrant is. And here’s where the problems arise: Recently arriving Afghan immigrant men (unlike the ones who came to the West decades ago) have an appalling record of sexual assault against women and children once they’re in the West.

Remember in 2014 and 2015, when Angela Merkel opened Europe’s gates to the people fleeing the Syrian Civil War and the other fallout from Obama’s “Arab Spring”? Western Europe went from having almost no sex crimes to seeing its rape and pedophile statistics skyrocket (the leftist states and media covering up crimes). Check the map at this link to see that Europe’s incidence of rapes now roughly parallels America’s.

In 2017, Cheryl Benard addressed rape and the influx of male immigrants from Afghanistan into Europe. Her essay at The National Interest explains her qualifications to speak:

I have worked on issues related to refugees for much of my professional life, from the Pakistani camps during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan to Yemen, Sudan, Thailand, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Lebanon, Bosnia, Nicaragua and Iraq, and have deep sympathy for their plight.

The “about” section at the end of the article elaborates:

It’s part of their culture. We’re not asking anyone to acclimate or assimilate to American culture, so we accept their abuses at face value despite their complete lack of compatibility with our values. American women will just have to accept it. /sarc

House them in liberal homes especially the LGBTQ folks... That would be fun.

I think one reason we failed in Afghanistan is because we thought we could make them into a mirror of us. Democracy is good. Local practices are bad. Rainbow flags are good. Tribes are bad. I don’t think that worked. They didn’t want to change. And why should they? It’s their country.

In America, people come here and we seem to have no expectation that they will change and assimilate. But they should. It’s our country. If you come here, be prepared to speak English, celebrate July 4, and accept our traditions and our pluralistic approach. Don’t try to turn America into an Islamic Republic.

Recently arriving Afghan immigrant men (unlike the ones who came to the West decades ago) have an appalling record of sexual assault against women and children once they’re in the West.

I suppose the author is using this as an example and we are to conclude other things. But maybe her thinking stops there. My thinking starts with traditional western culture, which is the foundation of American culture. The fact is, all too many immigrates, legal or illegal, do not share our culture. That leads to things like sexual assault, arranged marriages, and other hideous practices.

The basis of any culture is religion, which in turn promotes values and behavior based on those values. There are other things like language, literacy, art, music and so on that contribute as well.

These Afghanis are not even close culture-wise to the poor and illiterate Mexicans and Central Americans crossing our border. There are tons of reasons to eliminate illegal immigration over our southern border and every single one of those reasons apply to the Afghanis. However, there are many additional reasons that makes this Afghan migration even more wrong for America. The biggest one for me is it simply makes America, less American. It is because they do not share our culture. Not one bit.

“... It’s their country ...”
Not true. They occupy a geographical region with several hundred tribes who have been killing each other for centuries.
They have no sense of country, just a sense of kill your neighbor, because he’s not like you.
Tribes are like cells, you can defeat a single cell, but not the whole thing.

Fair point. What I was trying to get across is that we go places and announce that they are a country. We say that they are a nation state. We set up a national government. We tell them that their tribes are not so important anymore.

Why do we do that? It doesn’t work.

I said “it’s their country” but what I really mean is that they need to find their way and we should not impose our ways. Our concept of “nation building” seems foolish to me.
