The damage COVID-19 did worldwide is immeasurable. Earlier this summer, the Chinese Communist Party celebrated its centenary. World leaders congratulated Beijing. The reality is that the world should treat the Chinese communist party with as much disdain as they would Nazi Germany. Every Chinese diplomat should be treated as a pariah. No university should accept Chinese money any more than they would Nazi funds. After all, few if any political movements in the modern era have killed more. Deaths attributed to Mao Zedong and his successors outstrip Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. The millions who died under COVID-19 should be added to the tally. Truth matters and should trump feelings: Every school district in the United States should teach the reality of communism and of Chinese communist perfidy.

China will not pay anything.
China took the risk; it gambled, knowing that they had plenty of people to spare if the pandemic hit them hard, while most other countries would not get off so easy. They had hoped for a remake of the world, which hasn’t happened, so, they’re going to have figure something else to try, and they’re working on it, including a nuclear war, which they’re preparing for.
I don’t think any country on earth has the ability to do that.

Don’t tie compensation to a lab leak. That’s a theory that’ll never be proven because China has had almost 2 years to destroy any evidence. Tie it to the fact that China lied about COVID-19 when it was discovered, and their lies resulted in countless avoidable deaths and economic damage throughout the western world.
How you hold them responsible is you immediately place enormous tariffs on all Chinese goods and services. If they retaliate, double them. Repeat until China caves or dies. Companies will - out of necessity - move their operations out of China to other places. China will lose most of the foreign investment in a matter of months and their economy will collapse. Good.

You are a dreamer. China makes most of the goods and services. Tariffs would affect only the consumers. China has nukes, and they plan to use them, either sooner or later. We gave our manufacturing base to China willingly and stupidly, including defense critical goods. Then we paid them to develop that virus.
They can hurt us a lot more than we can them. We surrendered out manufacturing base to them. They don’t have to ship finished good to us.
Where’s the rarest of the world on this? We should lead from behind. At least a few European naval ships are showing up in their space.
