OAKLAND, Calif. - Former California Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted in Oakland's Jack London Square on Monday. Her personal Twitter account said, while she was not seriously injured, Boxer's cell phone was snatched by an assailant who managed to get away.
The tweet was confirmed via email by Boxer's son, Douglas Boxer, an attorney.

I cannot help myself, I simply do not feel any sympathy for her.
I hope no black lives were adversely affected.
I can’t post a comment because I’m laughing too hard!
Oh man the texts and the contact list on that phone. Tyrone better get rid of it. I’ll bet the CHP is pinging for that right now.
Democrats have made every single American vulnerable to violent crime and they don’t care.
It is going to take it happening to people with status for anything to change.
And I am sorry for Senator Boxer. I hope she is ok but thousands of Americans have gone through the exact same thing with absolutely no recourse.
It was just a former constituent wishing her well.
I don’t wish to see her knocked around at the great age of 80.....Why? She asked, no, plead for it.
If Ponch or Jon is on the case, look out.
If you’re walking around Oakland with nothing to protect you and you’re not aware of your surroundings then I have no sympathy for you. People allow themselves to become victims of crime. It’s only going to get worse. You can’t just flip a switch to turn policing back on. The damage is done.
“Don’t you know who I am......I am one of you!”
Reckless reporting. They don’t tell us if either one was wearing a mask. And is she vaccinated?
They omitted the most important information.
I hope no black lives did it.it may set them back 6 months, then comes the looting, and burning and white people taking a knee and washing a foot for guilt and giggles.
He stole a phone. She looted the treasury for trillions.
It was five years ago. A friend of mine and I had lunch and wandered around Jack London Square for a bit on a summer day in 2016 before catching a ferry to go across the bay.
It was peaceful, even a little festive and there were lots of families there.
Ain’t karma sweet!
Boxer’s the one who famously told Rick Santorum that a baby wasn’t a human being until the parents got it home and decided they wanted it. I don’t condone pushing down 80 year old women, but it should have happened a long time ago.
Like Seinfeld said, “Ah, that’s a shame”
mmmmm
It wasn’t DariusDarius.
Used to be karma was a Hillary but these days maybe karma is a Kamala.
