The Biden Administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) announced last week that it was dropping charges against five members of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) who had lied about their histories to obtain jobs at American universities, Breitbart reports.
The five soldiers were seeking visas in order to apply for jobs and doctoral positions at several universities in the states of California and Indiana. They had all been arrested in the summer of last year as part of a wider crackdown on Chinese infiltrations into American upper education. All five of them sought either J-1 or F-1 visas in order to apply to positions at the University of California, San Francisco, the University of California, Davis, Stanford University, Indiana University, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
However, officials revealed the stunning decision to drop the charges in statements to the Wall Street Journal last week, claiming that since “the defendants had all been detained or under other restrictions in the U.S. since their arrest a year ago,” the agency had determined “that further litigation in the group of cases would unnecessarily prolong their departure from the U.S., and that their situations since their arrests amounted to sufficient punishment and deterrence.”
In addition to these more calculated efforts by the Chinese military, there are currently over half a million Chinese students at American universities every year, according to Breitbart. In Fiscal Year 2019, there were approximately 117,000 Chinese students who came to the United States using F visas; the country with the second-largest amount of students in the country that same year was India, with 46,000.
So what did Hunter get in return?
Taking seats away from American. They should be deported with all other Chinese nationals.
I used to thinik Biden would sell us out to the chicoms. It is now apparent that he will make the transfer without charging them.
well i mean it’s not like they were doing something totally horrible, like peacefully protesting inside the capitol after being invited in or anything /s
No amnesty for the Americans tho!
Just Gulags
We are so lucky that Garland is not on the USSC. Really dodged a bullet these. The man is a totalitarian beast.
Are we swapping their spies for some of ours or are we just giving them away?
Pay back to the chicoms for helping him get elected.
(President Xi, that is.)
To keep breathing without a respirator................
“Taking seats away from American. They should be deported with all other Chinese nationals.”
Actually, no. The universities can literally build up to whatever the required number of seats are. Foreign students are cultivated by the US government, probably following policies laid down during the cold war. But universities have become centers for indoctrination, therefore they are extremely well funded by the US government and by government sponsored student loans. (These are what keep the cost of education high. If students had to pay their own way they certainly wouldn’t major in women’s studies or comparative masturbation.) Also, there is little need for a physical building anymore.
If you took away the perverse incentives created by government, probably fifty percent of the “academic” universities would vanish within a year. Training programs like plumbing and air-conditioning would expand greatly. You also would see a huge decrease in “wokeness.”
Birds of a feather, flock together.
Professional courtesy....................
of course they are.
they call TREASON, vitamin “T”.
Hunter’s rape tapes, are also treated as their
nutritional supplement.
Birds of a feather and all....
Got to give the chicoms a lot of credit...
They learned many things from jap history and have been successfully applying much of it during the past 60-years...
OTOH, today’s Americans have learned nothing from history...
“History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme.”
― Mark Twain
We treat them as if they are errant Americans. They are enemy combatants trying to infiltrate our institutions. By definition an act of war, no?
