But her initial comments were vaguely alluding to US embargo caused all of this which is just about exactly what she said we shouldnt be doing now.

History moves in cycles of 70 to 80 years. Three generations. Major game changing events have a shelf life that long before there is another big shakeup. The USA fought a revolution and won it's freedom and then faced a Civil war 70 years later then a depression and world war 70 years after that. The Soviet Union went commie and became a superpower only to collapse after 70 years as a nation.

Cuba as it exists today was formed in 1959. That's 60 years. Their current government is on its last legs.
