Did the two anti-Trump Washington Post reporters Carol Leonnig and Phil Rucker interview White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows for their smear book? The question has to be asked because there is a YUUUUUGE disconnect in their story between what General Mark Milley and Meadows claimed was said during an important conversation they had at the Army-Navy game last year.
Leonnig claimed that there was NOTHING in their book that they couldn't corroborate independently. So did they corroborate the conversation with the other participant in it with Milley, namely Mark Meadows? Ironically the two reporters appeared on a show hosted by Lyin' Brian Williams, best known for being a serial liar.
PING!
I wouldn’t trust anything Thoroughly Modern Milley says about anything.
I wouldn’t trust a word out of Mark Meadows. He was one of the people in the Trump White House in November, December, and January who was slow walking things and encouraging him to leave without a struggle.
At least according to Patrick Byrne’s account in his book “The Deep Rig”. He had first hand knowledge of this. And he definitely was not complimentary of Rudi Giuliani.
“I wouldn’t trust a word out of Mark Meadows. “
Trump really didn’t have any trustworthy people around him. Even Mr. and Mrs. Ivanka weren’t advancing his Make America Great Again agenda.
I don’t have a comment on the rest of your post, but I’m. It complimentary of Guiliani, either. I’ll never forget this, stated the week before Christmas;: “It’s all going to come out at once, right after Christmas.” Long on assertion and promises and short on delivery was Rudy
What is MARK MEADOWS saying about the conversation???
It’s in the video.
IIRC (and this is from memory) from Patrick Byrne’s account in his book “The Deep Rig” (and he is, most definitely a prickly pear kind of a guy IMO) from the ad hoc meeting where Byrne, Gen. Flynn, and Sidney Powell bluffed their way into the White House to see Trump (because he was being “shielded” by his staff which was filtering people like them out)
When they did get through, Trump listened and agreed to make Sidney Powell a Special Counsel, and when Meadows protested she needed a top secret security clearance and that would take time, Gen. Flynn said directly to the President: “Sir, you are the President of the United States. You can give a top secret security clearance to whoever you wish.” and Trump said “Okay. Sidney is my new Special Counsel. Get her a clearance and White House credentials.”
In a compressed time frame, speed was important. So, when a critical week passed, Byrne called to talk to Meadows, and he said “We’re working on it, these things take time...we’ll get back to you.”
It turned out that they had all ganged up on Trump and convinced him not to “appoint” Sidney Powell, and it is my suspicion that they decided to slow walk Byrne, Powell, and Flynn to the point where it became moot. IIRC, that is what Byrne thought. Meadows never told him it wasn’t going happen, but...they strung them along until he concluded that.
