I got some boxes of red army 7.62 x 39 the other day, the box says made in russia, the case is stamped tulammo. It was like a buck less to buy two 20 round boxes than one 40 round box of actual tulammo. I figured its all dirty steel case anyhow.

Was it just shipped in a different box? Red Army is Century International Arms’ house brand. It’s made all over Eastern Europe and Russia. Tula is apparently privately owned now. I don’t know if that was a maneuver to get away from Rostoc and the sanctions, or if it’s been the case longer than that.
Yep. The Israeli IDF uses a .22 Ruger 10/22 as their urban sniper rifle.
I tried subsonics in my PPQ semi .22 and they wouldn’t cycle.
Weird, they’re the only ones that would work consistently in my semi-auto rifles; others would stovepipe or partially cycle.
I guess I just assumed it was a contract thing between century and tula. It was the standard little cube of 7.62 x 39 with the pieces of brown wax paper between layers.
I just looked at some actual tula I had, the red army and tula are marked exactly the same, both as tulammo. Both boxes say from russia. There is a tiny little stamp that I guess could be different but its hard to tell on the steel cases. Weird, like I said the red army was actually cheaper by a buck or two in the 20 round box compared to tula 40 round boxes.

Tula makes Wolf, as well.
I bought some 9mm ammo at 25 bucks apiece in my neck of the woods.
I appreciate the update/news from your area.
