If injuries from Electromagnetic Radiation exposure weren’t being taken seriously, American embassy workers injured by microwave energy would be S.O.L. (see 1, 2, 3).
In regard to Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Hybrid models, experts have raised concerns about excessive radiation emissions from them as well ( see 1, 2, 3, 4). Recently, a lawsuit was filed by an EV owner who claims to have been injured from driving his.
Lawsuit information from CarComplaints.com
July 11, 2021 — A Nissan LEAF electromagnetic radiation lawsuit has been filed by a Georgia man who sued the automaker “for permanently damaging his health and for destroying his family and career, not to exceed $10 million.”
The 2015 Nissan LEAF customer who filed the lawsuit alleges the car caused him serious health problems from prolonged driving while sitting on a giant battery that allegedly emits large amounts of low-frequency electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation.
The plaintiff claims the LEAF radiation is “way above” safe levels of 2 mG (milligauss) or less.
According to the radiation lawsuit, the 2015 Nissan LEAF EMF measurements are as follows: ◾Driver’s floor — up to 9.2 mG, Top of the seat — up to 5.3 mG
◾Passenger floor — up to 13.1 mG, Top of the seat — up to 4.9 mG
◾Back row floor — up to 31.3 mG, Top of the seat — up to 4.5 mG
◾Back row/top of the elevated floor panel at the center of the vehicle — up to 12.6 mG
The Nissan LEAF electromagnetic radiation lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia: Josef Tater, v. Nissan North America, Inc. In addition to seeking up to $10 million, the plaintiff says Nissan should pay up to $990 million for gross negligence.
“Towards the end of January 2017, the plaintiff had a difficult time to distinguish what was real and what was not, and as a result was terminated from his job. On January 25th, the Plaintiff was hospitalized with inability to hear and speak. Going forward, the Plaintiff kept suffering physical and mental symptoms and his marriage fell apart as his wife filed for divorce on April 15th, 2017.” — Nissan LEAF radiation lawsuit
Also noteworthy – wireless charging technology is being developed for installation into public roads to charge EVs while they are being driven. Of course this technology would expose everyone on these roads to biologically harmful radiation – not just EV drivers and passengers.
Got pets? Exposure can affect them too.
Although I don’t doubt there are unusual magnetic fields, this sort of injury seems unlikely.
Also, road-wireless charging is still 10 years out, maybe prohibitively expensive, and if it happens will be smart - it will turn on for your specific car as you drive. Both to save energy and because you will be billed for the electricity.
Transformers must avoid magnetic flux leakage to achieve efficiency. A rapidly varying magnetic flux is shielded by conductive casings.
Does the plaintiff’s lawyer have a woke science teacher?
You know, the one that teaches flat earth, phlogeston theory and astrology? That claim tops even our twice daily fill in the blank “_____ was caused by climate change and we’re all gonna die tomorrow unless Trump is executed”.
After my back fusion I had to wear a bone growth stimulator that put out 5x that amount for at least 4 hours a day for 9 months.
Can mean either. (And many other things) Just Like BLM can stand for Bureau of Land Management or Black Lives Matter .
Batteries are DC and the motors for the drive are probably DC and DC cannot cause Electromatic Radiation injuries.
Oh, and the immediate vicinity of rare earth magnets: ~1,000,000 milligauss, i.e. holding things on your fridge.
“Gee, why are the ‘boys’ glowing in the dark?”
I want to see you with foil stuffed in your ears.
Just sitting in a Datsun makes me ill.
“Electric Vehicle Lawsuit: Prolonged Driving While Sitting On Giant Battery Caused Electromagnetic Radiation Injury”
even worse is if you spill an overly-hot cup of mcdonald’s coffee in your lap while you sit on the giant battery, as you could get both a scalded crotch and electrocuted at the same time ...
Cool...you get radiation therapy for your prostate whether you need it or not!
If this were the case, the type of personal devices which could be created and operated while seated for long trips is limited only by the imagination.
“ Actually, if the (perhaps tin-hat) accusations of magnetic Graphene Oxide being in the ‘vaccines’ the opposite would likely be true. “
Is that the part of the conspiracy that is going to make Bill Gates rich?
What about those battery powered fork lifts that have been around for a long, long time?
Are the drivers excessively sick?
You’re conflating shielding for high frequency EMF with this case, which cites low frequency EMF.
There’s a BIG difference. Copper & aluminum attenuate ELF MF poorly below 40-50 khz.
The following references get deep in the geek weeds, but elaborate both the problem of shielding and the potential for health effects; fair warning to others.

Its magnetic fields....which is what the plaintiff claims if you bothered to read it.
The other point is they measured magnetic field strength. Likely Luddite BS.
There were valid claims about phones, easy to see evidence, phones changed a bit.
“Nonsense. I could see maybe the motor controller emitting some harmful RF energy if it wasn’t properly shielded, but sitting above a battery isn’t going to do anything.”
Shhh, don’t tell the snowflakes. Maybe we can scare them into demanding real cars again.
