Media and the Democrats are promoting a false perception on the fifth anniversary of the mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub, in which Omar Mateen killed 49 people and injured 53 people.
There’s never been any evidence that the shooting was due to it being a gay club. It’s a horrible enough incident on its own, but that isn’t a proven aspect of the case. Indeed, the motive, at least as expressed by Mateen, was connected to ISIS, and the U.S. actions of Obama (and Biden) in Syria.

The shooter was a Mooslim.
Guns are the only problem.
Remember, the issue is never the issue.
The Revolution is ALWAYS the issue.

Was this attack (by a Muslim shooter) ever counted as “an act of terror” by Obama’s DHS-FBI-NSA-CIA-ATF?
Was the Fort Hood attack (by a Muslim shooter) ever counted as an act of terror by Obama?
The media carried Obama’s water when President Obama used the Pulse nightclub attack as a battering ram to go after Americans who opposed same sex marriage. Mr. Obama made the unsubstantiated claim that it was opposition to same sex marriage that led to the attack.
The terrorist’s 911 calls to the police from inside the club stated his reason was his anger over Obama using drone strikes on muslim nations.
This was an attack on Americans and the media has tried to spin this and divide Americans ever since.
If this attack had been on a strip joint, would there have been finger wagging from the press about sin, nothing good happens in places like that, and resistance to putting up a memorial marker?
The local news here in Orlando always talk about this as a hate crime against gays rather than a terrorist attack. This misleading propaganda prevents addressing the true problem. Terrorists in our midst. The shooters father was at a Hillary Clinton rally in Kissimmee shortly before this happened.
>>There was no proof he had ever been there before or even knew it was a gay club.
I beg to differ. There were customers who had recognized him from previous visits.
And the killer’s wife knew about his plot. Why she wasn’t sent to life in prison for her role I will never know.

Survivor ‘outraged’ at Omar Mateen’s father attending event
After I went back and checked my saved articles from that time period it shows the shooters father was there at the Hillary rally AFTER the Pulse nightclub event....
The shooting took place 6-12-16. Mateen called ch. 13 that night. This article was updated 6-15-16:
(excerpt)
“It was at 2:45 when I had just received the phone call of someone claiming to be the Orlando shooter. I answered the phone as I always do, ‘News 13 this is Matt,’ and on the other end I heard, ‘Do you know about the shooting?’ and I said ‘Yup, I’m getting information — I’m receiving some calls right now’ and he cut me off and said, ‘I’m the shooter.’ I didn’t know what to say, it was alarming to say the least. He sounded really calm on the phone and he started saying that he did it for the Islamic State — he did it for ISIS, and then he started speaking in a foreign language which at the time, being in Orlando, I thought it was maybe Spanish. But he was speaking so fast I didn’t know what it was, and thinking back now it was most likely Arabic, that he was speaking. I said ‘Sir, sir can you please speak in English?’ and then he started saying ‘I did it for ISIS, I did it for the Islamic State’ again. I didn’t know what to say to him. I was just blown away, and I asked him ‘Who is this? Where are you?’ and he told me that’s none of my effing business. He wouldn’t tell me who he was, he wouldn’t tell me where he was, but he wanted me to know that he did this for ISIS, he did this shooting for the Islamic State.”
Comey says in the video below one day after the shooting that it is not clear which terrorist group Mateen aspires to support. 6-13-16

I seem to remember the shooter went to another club ( non gay) but backed out because there was armed security.
Either this article, or one linked in article, said the shooter had never been at Pulse. His lawyer based his defense on the fact that he had never been there. No proof produced indicating otherwise.
I’d seen it referenced in articles years ago.
Here’s a summary

Several people who knew Mateen have speculated that he might have been gay or bisexual. A male friend of his from 2006, when the two were in police academy together, said that Mateen went to gay clubs with him and that Mateen once expressed an interest in dating him. Club-goers also recalled Mateen dancing with another man.[81][82] One classmate, who asked not to be identified by name, said Mateen asked him if he was gay.[83][84] The FBI has investigated many of these claims but has not found reasonable evidence to establish Mateen’s sexual orientation.[85]
After the shooting, the Orlando Sentinel and The Palm Beach Post reported that at least five regular customers at the Pulse nightclub had seen Mateen visit the venue on at least a dozen occasions. Sometimes Mateen drank in a corner by himself “and other times he would get so drunk he was loud and belligerent.”[26][83] A witness, who recognized Mateen outside the club an hour before the shootings, told investigators that Mateen had been messaging him for about a year using a gay dating app called Jack’d. He gave his phone to the FBI for analysis, along with his login details for the application.[86] A third witness said that Mateen had tried to pick up men at the nightclub.[87] Dozens of other witnesses, however, told the Tampa Bay Times that they had never seen Mateen at the nightclub.[11] A spokesperson for Barbara Poma, the owner of the Pulse nightclub, called the statement that Mateen had been a regular patron “untrue and totally ridiculous”.[88]
Mateen’s father Seddique denied that his son was closeted, saying, “If he was gay, why would he do something like this?”[84] Two days later, after multiple reports questioned whether Mateen was homosexual, Mateen’s father said, “I didn’t see any of it and I don’t believe that was the case.”[89] However, during an interview with the Brazilian television station SBT Brazil, Mateen’s ex-wife claimed that his father called him gay while in her presence.[90] Following the shooting, Mateen’s father stated, in an online video in his native language, “In this month of Ramadan, the gay and lesbian issue is something that God will punish,” though “the servants of God shouldn’t have anything to do with it.”[91]
The Wall Street Journal reported Mateen’s ex-wife as saying that “[he] did feel strongly about homosexuality.”[84] When asked if Mateen was gay, his ex-wife said she “didn’t know” and recalled that he had confessed to going to nightclubs.[81][82][92] Gawker reported that his ex-wife’s fiancé, Marco Dias, told Brazilian media in Portuguese that she had told him that Mateen had “gay tendencies.”[93] He also added that his family and others believed he was gay, and that “the FBI asked her not to tell this to the American media.”[90]
