Georgia GOP Approves Resolution Censuring Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger
The Epoch Times ^ | June 6, 2021 | ZACHARY STIEBER

The Georgia GOP during a convention approved a resolution that says Raffensperger, a Republican, failed to perform his duties in “accordance with the laws of the Constitution of the State of Georgia,” WSB-TV reported.

The document says the failure stemmed from Raffensperger entering into a settlement agreement with the Democratic Party of Georgia, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. The agreement saw Raffensperger agree to promote and enforce regulations regarding prompt notification if a mail-in ballot was rejected and regarding county clerks’ signature reviews of absentee ballot envelopes and ballots.

Georgia Republicans accused Raffensperger of “undermining the security of our elections by allowing mass mailings of absentee applications by his office and third parties which created opportunities for fraud and overwhelmed election offices; rendering accurate signature matching nearly impossible; allowing ballot drop boxes without proper chain of custody; and ignoring sworn affidavits and disregarding evidence of voter fraud.”

“It’s obvious that there was fraud,” Michael Ovitz, an attendee at the convention, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “A civilized society depends upon truths and facts, not deception and deceit.”

The Georgia Republican Party did not respond to a request for comment.

A censure has no teeth, but I’ll take it!

Unless he’s tossed into Fulton County Jail, with no bond, pending the outcome of a legitimate audit and investigation, who the f*ck cares what the…..Just As Corrrupt Ga GOP…..says or does?

He’s a millionaire and probably worth even more now. This means nothing.

This drama is only beginning. It will go on for years.

Ultimately, there will be charges of treason.

Treason applies only to those who have taken an oath of allegiance.

Raffensperger and others like him have taken oaths and are subject to charges of treason.

It may take years to get to a setting where society forms a consensus that treason is the appropriate label for what has taken place. It may happen sooner.

Treason carries the death penalty. It is deadly serious. We’re not there yet but we’re on our way.

What good does a censuring resolution do? Isn’t that completely ineffective? Is that merely a matter of posturing?

I’d rather see him in jail but censure is a good start.

This drama is only beginning. It will go on for years.

We should hope so but with a stronger state R party.

There is yet a second major issue concerning Kemp and Raffensperger and "settlements" involving Georgia election law as it applied to the elections of Nov 3 and our Jan 2021 run-off.

In a second, I believe later, settlement they "agreed' (Stacy Abrams, et al, asked, and Kemp and Raffensperger capitulated without a trial), to extend the voter registration date for run-off elections, in violation of clear statutory language.

This extension allowed a substantial flood of new voters, i.e., those that did not vote in the original election, to register subsequent to registration date and vote via mail-in ballots and in person in what was essentially a pitched battle for control of the U.S. Senate.

I don't have the statutes or dates immediately at hand inasmuch as Free Republic's Georgia page seems to reach back only to January 17, 2021.

I remember the runoff was in violation of GA State statutes. The fact the laws were blatantly violated was both disturbing and discouraging.

What is uplifting is that ordinary salt-of-the’Earth Georgians have taken up Dan Shultz’s Precinct Project and now number over a third of the GA GOP and growing. They are on fire ready to pounce on GOP fake establishment ‘installs’.
