‘I’m Not Going to Treat That White Guy’
There’s clearly a generation gap between these doctors on Zoom, the youngest of whom has been practicing for at least 10 years, and doctors just beginning their career. The older clinicians are more likely to appear politically neutral, at least at work, while younger students and clinicians are more likely to prioritize activism. Those differences can be a major source of tension.
One prominent organization, White Coats for Black Lives, was formed by medical students in 2014 and now has at least 75 chapters all over the U.S. In addition to publishing a Racial Justice Report Card that grades medical schools, the group encourages medical students to make specific demands of their institutions, including that medical schools and hospitals end all relationships with local law enforcement.
When asked what severing ties with police would do in his urban emergency room, one ER doctor said it would be a “total disaster.” Police, he told me, are a vital part of emergency operations, from securing crime scenes so emergency responders can see victims to helping transport patients to keeping hospital staff and patients safe when private security is inadequate.
“I was in a situation once where an ambulance brought in a gunshot victim,” he said. “We brought the patient in, and about 15 minutes later, a group came looking for him. They came to finish him. They were going from room to room, looking for him, and when a couple of guys from hospital security tried to get them to leave, one shot a gun in the air. Luckily enough, we heard police sirens bringing someone else in, and when they heard the sirens, they ran. If not for the police, I don’t know what would have happened.”
As another example of the generation gap, an ER doctor on the West Coast said he sees providers, particularly younger ones, applying antiracist principles in choosing how they allocate their time and which patients they choose to work with. “I've heard examples of Covid-19 cases in the emergency department where providers go, ‘I’m not going to go treat that white guy, I'm going to treat the person of color instead because whatever happened to the white guy, he probably deserves it.’”

The upshot is younger doctors coming up through the ranks have swallowed the 'social justice' pill. They are now intimidating older doctors and medical schools to remain silent about racial differences in medical treatment and research. Older doctors are now afraid to discuss findings and research lest they be denounced and fired for racist view.
Any doctor that doesn’t bite the CRT viewpoint can remove themselves from the system by opening independent clinics that offer general practice services.
That’s 95% of medicine anyway.
They already beat up elderly whites in nursing homes.
They probably neglect to give them meds and make sure they drink enough.
I decided a long time ago i’d only be in a hospital for no other choice, an er episode.
Life expectancies for all groups have increased in recent decades. There is still a gap in terms of life expectancy at birth, a few years more for whites than for blacks, but by age 70 the difference is very slight, and for people 85+ blacks, both males and females, have longer expected remaining lifespans than whites.
Having dealt with a fair number of very young non-white doctors when family members were receiving treatment at prominent California hospitals, I find it very believable that *some* (not all) of these brats would engage in anti-white racism. But more than that, what I learned is that this generation just out of medical school has a stunning disregard for the value of human life.
It’s no mystery to me why most of them are pro-abortion. They may mouth, “Black lives matter,” but their real attitude is more like “No lives matter.” They couldn’t care less whether their patients live or die, and I suspect that some of them feel strangely powerful expediting their patients’ deaths (e.g., the proffered excuse is along the lines of “I’m not going to treat this or even try anything because it’s not going to work and even if it did work, your quality of life would be so bad that it wouldn’t be worth it” but I suspect that real, unspoken attitude is “I’m Dr God, and I get to decide whether you live or die”).
It was, but govt regulation, bureaucracy, and lawfare is forcing more doctors into larger practiced, from regional clinics to HMOs. It's getting harder and harder to find independent doctors, and I'm sure that's an intentional move by the left to push us toward socialized medicine.
Wow, stupidity and lockstep marching in one picture
‘I’m Not Going to Treat That White Guy’
And the white guy probably does not want your affirmative action ass touching him anyway. He wants a competent doctor.
“I decided a long time ago i’d only be in a hospital for no other choice, an er episode.”
The last month of my father’s life I stayed overnight in the chair next to his bed at the hospital and later at a skilled nursing center. Needless to say, what I observed in the hospital at night with respect to care or absence of care was frightening. I did try to meet with hospital management regarding the situation and what I was seeing. They could have cared less.
I also talked to a couple of older white nurses confidentially. They told me I was definitely doing the right thing by staying in the room to protect my father from the staff.
The fIrst credo of medicine since the ancient Greeks: FIRST DO NO HARM.
What seems to be coming is incompetent medicine (based upon a loose data accumulation of the current crop of medical students) and the signs of a medical system looking to collapse.
Treat your patient, you twits, and shut your pie holes.
First do no harm, unless it’s to crackas.
That is in. large part because medical schools have been working overtime to admit the social justice type to their ranks. If you are non-minority with a typical college education applying right out of college it is very difficult to get in. They prefer minorities with no traditional educational/life experiences. My daughter who graduated summa cum laude from a well known university with exceptional mcat scores who danced ballet on scholarship all through college had a difficult time getting interviews at a lot of places. The selection bias starts early

It also say’s in the Hippocratic Oath “No doctor shall preform abortion or provide a woman the means to do so’’.
This leads to racism itself. Whites would do well to only see older White or some older Black doctors and stay away from anyone Woke or younger. They view you as a target for extermination.
First, the race hustlers should learn grammar.
When gangsters show up at the ER to kill patients, the White Coats For Black Lives can send an a counselor (with no scary gun) to reason with them. Yeah that’ll work.
They do intend to eliminate those troublesome Whites.
