A study5 published on 3 February found that the bat coronavirus shared 96% of its genetic material with the virus that causes COVID-19. Bats could have passed the virus to humans, but there are key differences between the RBD sites in the two viruses. This suggests that this specific bat coronavirus did not directly infect people, but could have been transmitted it to people through an intermediate host, say researchers.

thank you for posting this article on Doctor Redfield, a true scientist and an admirable human being
I tried to bring attention to him and his wisdom when he had been still a member of Trump’s taskforce, but had been essentially silenced assumedly by the Fauci forces.
Early on he recommended universal masking as a method to build immunity, shorten the pandemic and decrease the severity of the disease and of the death rate.
Obviously, that protocol would have avoided the majority of the shutdown also. He also said we could could be through with emergency in just weeks.
His recommendations required a type of nuanced thinking which has been bred out of the technocrat scientists currently his adversaries. But, I believe history will recognize him as the genius of the taskforce.
He seeks and speaks truth as he finds it. He has had his enemies all along

Skepticism is good, and the Vanity Fair piece doesn’t give any details, but why is it so hard to believe that leftist scientists embedded in the CDC and other institutions would be capable of this in response to Dr. Redfield stating that he thought the lab leak hypothesis was likely?
At the time, that was a conspiracy theory. And racist. So, while confirmation would be good, it’s not very hard to believe, imho.
