The best thing about the Senate filibuster rule besides preventing most of the leftwing agenda promoted by the Democrats is that its very existence now makes the media go hilariously berserk. However, the moment the Republicans regain the Senate, the media will immediately go silent on their desperate pleas to eliminate the filibuster.
PING!
MSNBC, the condensed cream of moonbat soup of news networks.
Wait until a D senator in a red state has a stroke or something.
Where were they when the democrats were blocking Covid relief last year by preventing the Senate from moving to debate?
The reality is that it lets real world democrats blame republicans for not allowing extreme bills to pass. Schumer is hiding behind the filibuster to stop the very extreme from running away with the country. If he was as extreme as he purports there would be no filibuster.
Which ironically would happen if SR-1 passes but which will be blocked by the...FILIBUSTER!
Because traitors senators mansion(sic) and sinema. Right pedo joe? They ALWAYS side with the gopE and vote with them ALL the time. ππ¨π©
The media goes berzerk over everything they don’t like. Its all very predictable.
Gawwwwwd! What WAS that??? π³ LOL!
BTW...their whining is music to my ears. π€£
So who gave the media the right to have an opinion on those we the people elected. The news media does hot have standing to interfere in government functions but only to report the facts.
I think that ship has sailed. LOL!
The government seems to kowtow to them.
There’s no mention of the filibuster in the Constitution.
It should have been gotten rid of the first time anyone tried it.
The specific instances in which the US Constitution requires a super-majority are limited to:
Convicting an Impeachment (2/3 majority in the Senate β Article 1, Section 3)
Expulsion of a member of one house of Congress (2/3 vote of the house in question β Article 1, Section 5)
Override a Presidential Veto (2/3 majority in both the House and the Senate β Article 1, Section 7)
Ratify a treaty (2/3 majority in the Senate β Article 2, Section 2)
Passing of a Constitutional Amendment by Congress (2/3 majority in both the House and the Senate β Article 5)
Calling for a Constitutional Convention (2/3 of the state legislatures β Article 5)
Ratifying a Constitutional Amendment (3/4 of the states β Article 5)
Restore the ability of certain rebels to serve in the government (2/3 majority in both the House and the Senate β 14th Amendment)
Approval of removal of the President from his position after the Vice President and the Cabinet approve such removal and after the President contests the removal (2/3 majority in both the House and the Senate 25th Amendment)
