Police in North Carolina has arrested a woman who was in a car that was stopped by BLM rioters in the street in Elizabeth City. She’s charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill & more. She may face hate crime charges too.

Lisa Michelle O’Quinn, 41, was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill by use of a motor vehicle, one count of careless and reckless conduct and one count of unsafe movement, Elizabeth City Police said in a news release. Investigators said they were still determining if the incident was a hate crime.

Multiple videos surfaced on social media this morning and in one of them, Lisa who is driving a white Sedan is stopped by a BLM mob. She tries to drive away from the rioters but one of them blocks the road with his bike.’

The mob accused the police officer of not doing his job because he didn’t arrest her immediately:

They even doxed the officer’s private information online!

The Elizabeth City Police Department said in a statement that Lisa Michelle O’Quinn, 41, drove her vehicle into two 42-year-old women who were “peacefully protesting and exercising their constitutional rights” on Monday evening.

Was this woman’s arrest justified?

Because with the rise of so-called anti-protest laws which protect the drivers in these situations, this becomes a bigger story to see how this is dealt with.

Prosecutors charged O’Quinn with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill by the use of a motor vehicle, one count of careless and reckless conduct, and one count of unsafe movement.

Police said they were investigating the incident as a potential hate crime involving aggravating factors that may lead to a longer sentence for O’Quinn if she is convicted.

O’Quinn was being held in jail on a $40,000 bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow.

In the wake of last year’s Black Lives Matter protests, Republican lawmakers are advancing a number of new anti-protest measures at the state level — including multiple bills that specifically make it easier for drivers to run down protesters.

Under the new law, the driver will no longer be liable for striking — or even killing — a person if the driver is “fleeing from a riot … under a reasonable belief that fleeing was necessary to protect the motor vehicle operator from serious injury or death.”

The measure also creates new penalties for protesters who obstruct streets or vehicle traffic, including hefty fines of up to $5,000 and as much as a year in jail.

Why is this a hate crime?

Because she tries to run away from protesters?

I think that Orwell's 1984 predictions are becoming a reality!

I hope I never find myself in that situation, because I won’t be stopping.

Meanwhile the protestors arrested in Washington at the US Capitol rot in jail, denied their Constitutionally protected right to due process, speedy trial, and bail.

The prosecutor might not, but the defense attorney definitely would.

To make it a hate crime, you have to show racial intent. She could have called them ni**ers as she ran them down and that would not be enough evidence. If I were her, my line would be that if they were white I’d have called them crackers. i.e. it’s not about their race. It’s about them blocking the road. That’s why I don’t run over people - black or white - on a daily basis. They are not actively trying to block traffic with their bodies.

People who assault cars on roadways and especially highways attempt murder. They smash the windshields of passing vehicles and cause unexpected stops at high rates of speed.

Since our highways are state or federal, powers that be ABOVE the local corrupt politicos need to get involved.

This particular incident may have been on a surface road but my comment applies to highways which are now also shut down by insurgents.

DC saw the Waco biker arrests and said “that’s a good idea!”.

Of course eventually the charges were dropped and I believe there were fines to pay those who’s civil rights were violated.

Looks to me like the guy on the bike intentionally stopped in front of her when he saw her coming.

Because the alternative is that the city gets burned.
The cowards lack the guts to protect their citizens or enforce the law against BLM.

We have constitutional rights to block traffic in the streets an threaten the occupants?

This is not the best grounds for a self destructive argument. The county is 38% black and has been won by the Democrats in every Presidential election since 1992. In 2020, Trump lost the county by only 62 votes, a better showing than in 2016.

Whoever had jurisdiction over that road area - city or state or whatever - needs to be sued for allowing criminals to block roadways and intimidate drivers.

She needs to counter-sue the city - throw in a civil suit dealing with the stress and damages done to her personally.

We don't build roads so two-bit thugs can rough up citizens.

intent to kill by use of a motor vehicle

If that was intent to kill it was a very poor effort
