When federal health officials recently announced that fully vaccinated people no longer have to wear masks in most situations, Jaz Johnson was among those who kept hers on.
Johnson, 46, of Kansas City, Missouri, has received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, but she has no desire to go maskless.

In addition to helping keep her and her family healthy, masks have offered Johnson something else: the chance to hide emotions, such as contempt when someone is standing too close to her in a checkout line, or boredom when a relative tells the same story for the tenth time.
“I am one of those people that cannot lie or get away with anything,” Johnson, who works in information technology, said. “It’s been pretty fun now that no one really knows, necessarily, what I’m thinking.”

some people are continuing to do so — having come to appreciate the reprieve they provide from stifling social expectations while out in public.
These mask-wearers say they see a multitude of benefits to covering up. No one can tell you to smile when you don’t feel like it. It gives you a break from putting on makeup. And it provides a degree of anonymity.
“It’s exhausting having to put on this smiling, very calm, brave face,” said Cassidy, 35, of Lake Tahoe, Nevada, who asked to be identified by first name only for privacy.
A Navy veteran, Cassidy has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and agoraphobia and said masks feel like a “shield” that prevent uncomfortable interactions while running errands: “I can absorb the environment in a much more controlled manner without having to think about what my face is doing, and having to think about someone seeing my face.”

So these are the people wearing their lil’ face dipes while driving alone in their cars or walking outside with nobody anywhere near them...
Many people who continue to wear masks think they’re being polite.

>>U.S. flu deaths, normally in the tens of thousands annually, were significantly lower.
or flu deaths were misattributed as untested covid deaths.
Makes me want to be especially rude to people that wear them.
>>What a bunch of sad human lemmings. If biden ate dog poop so would they.
didn’t beto give his wife a bowl of baby poop?
I still have them. There a number of businesses around here that rather than relaxing have been getting more and more repressive, closing for in person, requiring appointments and full maskage. I was an early adopter of masks and I made and donated probably a thousand of the things, but they are objects with a purpose, and once I got my vaccine I gratefully put the things away.
It amazes me that this is NOT Babylon Bee.
I saw two people today driving their cars wearing masks alone.
Liberals should just go full burka but leave the rest of us alone.
What’s worse to a woman than unwanted male attention? Not having male attention.
You don’t need to wear a mask to be polite ... and, I’ve seen (and heard) maskers who were not polite at all, failing to understand — until I advise them — that I despise them for wearing a mask as much as they despise me for not wearing one ... ever!
...like I said, it’s the jabbed who are still wearing the masks.
nope, not all women live or die on the attention from a man.
In what part of the country are you?
Here where I live, in the suburbs of Atlanta, we are very free. There are germaphobes who can’t get rid of the masks, (i.e. the art gallery where I sell my art; they even quit letting me go to the bathroom there), and so I just don’t participate in their fun of having me visit.
“ The public health benefits of masking combined with social distancing were striking this past year. U.S. flu deaths, normally in the tens of thousands annually, were significantly lower.”
Yeah the bathroom thing, thats here too with the businesses that are locking down more. I’m in PA, and the chains will let you in without a mask if your vaccinated and you can use the bathroom too, but there are some places that are growing more and more cautious, and its weird. I’m wondering if this is due to fears of liability lawsuits because these are generally small businesses?
I don’t have a problem with this at all. In a free country who am I to prevent, or ridicule, someone else who dons a mask for reasons of social comfort or whatever?
Are these places asking for vaccination cards? If so, this is so communist...I am at a loss for words.
Wearing masks is dehumanizing
Universal mask-wearing is dehumanizing. We are being conditioned to regard each other as biohazards and objects to be feared, instead of fellow human beings. Whether this is intentional or not, it’s one of the most horrible and sinister trends I’ve seen in my lifetime.
