Glock just updated its 40s to gen5 ... not a sign of decay whether you love or hate Glocks.
And semi-auto!
New York, LA, maybe! But not Rio Linda!
Clickbait.
Even the .25ACP has it’s followers. Amateur gunmiths are chambering it in light single-shot rifles, as a reloadable stealth small-game round.
Only one I can see disappearing is the .45GAP. A round that never should have seen daylight to begin with, and nobody cared about when it did. Frankly, I’ve never even heard of it before.
lt: One wonders what JB would choose to carry from TODAY's vast selection of choices?
There are other options available today - and sometimes the stories we hear (or read) may be subject to debate. I've read that Roy Weatherby's favorite rifle cartridge was his own .257 Weatherby Magnum, but a friend who owns a .300 WM claims it was that cartridge. And it seems like 9 out of 10 folks who talk about the M1 Garand rifle pronounce the name with the emphasis on the second syllable (gaRAND) - I'm guessing that's how it was pronounced in the military. But apparently Mr. John Garand himself told folks that his last name rhymed with "errand"...
There's nothing actually wrong with the .45 GAP; I load .45 ACP to the same length (& similar ballistics), so it will fit in double-stack .40 S&W mags...
;>)
Nah, the S&W 40 is pitchy and hard to keep on target. Moved on to SIG 9mm with far better results.
Oh. No wonder. She should have used a .45 instead!
A phone book, on it's edge, in a row of books on a shelf, will stop a bullet. Check out Paul Harrell from a decade ago:

“In reality, once a gun comes out, no one stops to check the caliber. Everyone runs for cover because no one wants to get shot. Period.”
That depends entirely on the circumstances and the adversary.
And it may be true in the scenario you imagine.
But there are dozens of scenarios where that is not true.

All of these cartridges will continue to have their own cult following, even the .25 auto.
The .32 magnum is as close to perfect as a J-frame size revolver can get.
The .41 magnum is the handgunning world's 16 gauge.
The .40 S&W will be this century's .38 Super.
As long as there's a market for a pocket handgun that weighs under seven ounces, (P-32) there will be a place for the .32 auto.
Overreach by the writer, indeed. One might say pulling it out of uh, somewhere.
Good point. The .45 GAP is already so gone that we’ve all already forgotten about it.

Shoot one and you’ll be hooked
...even if it’s only chambered in .357, which we’ve clocked at 1900 fps. Simply amazing!
Robert Kennedy was assassinated with a .22 and Reagan was almost killed.
Had not thought about that, but it is true.
The bullet Hinkley used was not a normal 22.

The explosive tip on this bullet did not detonate from what I read.
Looked at buying a .357 Coonan a few months back, but it only came with one mag. Apparently extra mags are tough to find, and well over $100 each, if & when you find 'em. I said "no thanks"...
Ten MM is cool if you (and your hands) are big and/or if you are in bear, lion, or dangerous two-legged mammal country.
Otherwise the .40 short-and-weak does a fine job for a better price.
