People discovered that they could stampede the herd and say omg! there is a shortage... and then the panic buying and opportunistic buying would ensue (creating the predicted shortsge)!with people then selling things like toilet paper on ebay. I think China made supply chain management easy before. Also I think our corporate overlords are probably trying to squeeze costs.

I think the best thing we can do is to help our local farmers hang on through all the corporate globalist insanity. The more farmers can sell to their local consumer market (which tends to be lucrative), the more they will be able to ride out losses born through no fault of their own.

Moved off the East coast ten years ago to rural MO and bought that property. We're getting fairly close to a good degree of self sufficiency. I got my start on a meat goat herd last Spring with stimulus money. Also bought $250 worth of crypto a few months ago. That turned into $470 at one point and I cashed out $300 shortly after to buy some rear tractor tires.
The remaining crypto has been running anywhere from $96 to $126 over the past few weeks and I wish I had some spare cash to buy more. Do I believe in Bitcoin? Heck no. It only has one purpose, peer to peer monetary exchanges and isn't very good at that due to volatility and fees. The blockchain however, I do believe in. All my little bit of money is in an alt coin that has more real world use than most and has a team behind it with an unbelievable combined IQ and experience. I would also like to put something into one of the privacy coins since the one I'm in is the opposite and apt to become mainstream.

Bicycle. I’m not a bike snob and I don’t own a stitch of spandex, but I am in the market for a new gravel or trail bike. Not sure exactly where my sweet spot is going to be, but there are half a dozen mid-range bikes that I want to test ride. None of them are available, not even by special order; they’re sold out nationally and the warehouses are empty. The shops all have two years worth of inventory on backorder with no solid information on when anything will arrive.
