The man that rid Europe of Islam (Charles "The Hammer" Martel and built the foundation for Charlesmagne. This is not a very in depth article. But one of those battles that could have possibly altered the history of Western Civilization.

I agree on not very in depth.
“The Muslim conquests were not inherently about religion, especially seeing as the conquerors allowed freedom of religion in conquered territories,”

Today’s Moslems in France only want to complete the mission of their forebears that Charles Martel stopped. The French military officers who have written their letter to the French President warning of the eradication of modern France by Moslems, are the true descendants of Charles Martel and are carrying on his mission of defending their country from a foreign religious invasion.

It certainly did but the French learned nothing from it. Look how they kowtow to the Muslim horde invasion.

A couple years after Sept. 11, I noticed that academic sources that were in any way critical or investigative of the origins of Islam were deprecated and stopped appearing.
For example, in the 1970s, there were serious archeological findings that dated a period of social, economic, and political unrest in the Arabian peninsula just around the time of Mohammed's (however you like to spell him) rise. Those articles are hard to find, even on J-STOR.
Coincidentally, there were new articles that emphasized the wonders and liberality of Islam, especially it's loan of tolerance to Europe, which the evil Francs rejected at Tours.
Seriously, I've seen articles that purport that the Umayyad invasion of France was just a friendly, daytime picnic adventure north of the Pyrenees, no harm meant (despite the documented plunder).
