Affected and noticed. Big deal. Supply chain interruptions happens. But it got fixed very quickly. And we were already using alternate methods of delivery. If it wasn’t for the doom and gloom morons panic buying people probably wouldn’t even have noticed. I stand by it, anybody who thinks that’s capable of crippling the entire country is a moron who doesn’t remember the 70s. We’ve dealt with way worse with a less dynamic supply chain.
If you want milk for everything but drinking, rather than buying liquid milk try buying a product called Nido.
Unlike all other powdered milk this is whole milk with the full amount of fat. Huge difference over nonfat powdered milk. Acceptable but not great for drinking, but it’s easy to use for cooking and everything else and works great. I buy the cans of it and then put them in the freezer. I don’t know how long it keeps but I’ve had it over a year at times with no problem. For example if I want to make biscuits I put the powdered Nido in with the flour and stir it and then add water. Makes perfect biscuits. And we are never without milk.
I know Walmart and Kroger carry it.

My cousin’s husband recently retired from Duke Energy, he was in management. He told me it was frightening how susceptible the power grid was to almost any problem. He also said that the capability of the personnel was also very troubling. Duke Energy constitute a very significant chunk of the East Coast power grid.
It’s not that difficult to be fairly well prepared for major disruptions. You can do it without abject paranoia or disrupting your lifestyle or your budget
It is prudent to understand we have a Congress and an Administration that is run by extreme ideologues who are grossly incompetent. The disaster that was a Carter Administration was nothing compared to what we’re dealing with now. Events that could be properly handled by previous administrations over the years could easily paralyzed these idiots. They have already demonstrated that.
Yeah, I’m aware of Nido and even have an old can here that I need to toss because it’s years past it’s best by date.
We’ve got meat goats and I may end up getting a dairy goat doe as well. We had some years ago but didn’t bother milking them much and we never got set up for it. Got enough to try it. I had it with cereal the next morning and it tasted like regular store bought cow milk.
Supposed to be able to make good cheese depending on the breed and milk fat content.
Thank you. Home canning it is somewhat intimidating for me.
