Diversity training is now in force at many institutions of higher education.
In the typical scenario, students, staff, and faculty submit themselves to the mercies of hectoring lectures and demeaning demonstrations that purport to reveal white privilege and the oppressive conditions faced by “underrepresented populations” in their institutions. Former Smith College staffer Jodi Shaw’s account of how, as part of such training, she was humiliatingly reduced to her racial identity and reprimanded for her role in the oppression of non-white co-workers is but the most recent high-profile example being discussed and debated.
As the intensity of diversity training has increased in the wake of the George Floyd riots, the pace of the transformative project that drives it has also ratcheted up.
Statements by college presidents on the Floyd case’s ramifications for life on campus were widespread across the country last summer. Columbia’s Lee Bollinger, for example, affirmed that “[u]niversities…have to accept our share of responsibility for the state of affairs we have today…[b]ut we are determined, even more so now, to change and to be better.”
At the institution where I teach, we are in the early days of a university-wide initiative that describes American higher education as “exclusive, racially and sexually homogeneous institutions designed to reinforce mores that support homogeneity” and envisions an open-ended project to “incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into courses, curricula, teaching styles/methods, and more.”
Other pieces of the initiative involve the “excavation” of the university’s history “related to diversity, equity, and inclusion” and work to “generate inclusive and justice-oriented connections” with the larger community in which the university sits.

At what stage do the beatings and whipping kick in?
RIght before the “double-taps” take place.
Struggle sessions were an important part of Maoist China, and now the USA. Anyone not familiar with the term should do an image search at Duck Duck Go and then read up a little.
Generally speaking, white Americans just don’t have a victim narrative (and I don’t think they should have one). If you are white and you or your ancestors have a hard luck story (oppressed and exploited by factory/mill owners, cheated by the government in some way, discriminated against by liberals because you are a conservative or a Christian or both, etc.), the public doesn’t hear about it.
The horror. The horror.
Those chairs scream hotel meeting room. Imagine paying for that. Imagine being forced to sit through that struggle session or be at risk of losing your employment.
Is that real?
It sure looks like it.
And the (liberal) gray-haired Karen in the row is smiling, agreeing with the whole thing.
“PAYPAL ME”
I first came on that pic on another site. I’ve followed up the URL on that whiteboard, and she appears real, that’s what she does.
These woke folks are creating more racists than the KKK ever dreamed of.
Well, Liberals SAY they'll create jobs.... ‘Diversity Training’ is a booming INDUSTRY!!
You can bet the people leading the training wouldn't pass a HS civics 101 course and have nothing to recommend them to lead the ‘training’.
They only have the habit of demanding, and GETTING, appointments to do-nothing positions and their blind hatred of everyone who has actually completed their education and demonstrated professionalism in their respective discipline.
The character-building that's associated with striving at and surpassing rigorous benchmarks in your field is wholly unknown to them.
I wonder what curriculum, if any, qualifies a person to arbitrarily bash a whole class of people they don't know! To just behave like an ill-educated and over indulged loud-mouth is hardly a qualification!!
Clearly originated in re-education trainings in Soviet Union during Stalin era.
