A summary of Joey’s, you know, the thing, to Congress last night…or whatever:

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod one night

   Sailed off in a wooden shoe,—

Sailed on a river of crystal light

   Into a sea of dew.

"Where are you going, and what do you wish?"

   The old moon asked the three.

"We have come to fish for the herring-fish

   That live in this beautiful sea;

   Nets of silver and gold have we,"

            Said Wynken,

            Blynken,

            And Nod.

It’s a nursery rhyme, intended to lull you to sleep. Do not fall for it.

The old moon laughed and sang a song,

   As they rocked in the wooden shoe;

And the wind that sped them all night long

   Ruffled the waves of dew;

More unity!

  Why, it’s a socialist dream! More taxes! More welfare! More sugar!

All night long their nets they threw

   To the stars in the twinkling foam,—

Then down from the skies came the wooden shoe,

   Bringing the fishermen home:

'Twas all so pretty a sail, it seemed

   As if it could not be;

And some folk thought 'twas a dream they'd dreamed

   Of sailing that beautiful sea;

   But I shall name you the fishermen three:

            Wynken,

            Blynken,

            And Nod.

   And Nod is a little head,

So shut your eyes while Mother sings

   As you rock in the misty sea

   Where the old shoe rocked the fishermen three:—

And now, a gratuituous shot at the occupying FLOTUS, Dr. Jilly, at the whatever last night.

She wore a dress by another immigrant designer, Uruguayan-born Gabriela Hearst, which was hand-embroidered with the flowers of all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and every U.S. territory.

The navy dress was a different version of a cream coat and dress designed by Hearst, also embroidered with state and territories’ flowers, that Biden wore on Jan. 20 for celebrations of her husband’s inauguration.

So – unity!

I saw a small bit of the end of Biden’s speech as I turned in to see Tim Scott. Pathetic scene with a nearly empty chamber and an old geezer nattering on. Faked enthusiasm by the Dems. An impression came to me: this seemed like a pretend state of the union speech put on for the demented old guy by the Make a Wish Foundation.
