Feminism: Freedom or Failure?

Women can do it all

We can bring home the bacon and fry it up too! This is what I remember hearing as a kid growing up in the 80s. Television programs were overrun with career women working long hours who were still able to have a wonderful home made dinner ready, an impeccably clean home, and well-groomed children. Ahhh… The perfect picture of a well-balanced career and family life. This is what we women should strive for, right? But is that an accurate evaluation, or a lie sold to us by the TV and movie studios?

I’m going to go with a lie.

Feminism is just great (if you like a woman with a hairy back).

If you look around today, you will see the carnage left by this assumption that women can do it all. But we don’t need to do it all. We are raising the next generation of both men and women to do it all together.

Men. Women. Defined Sex roles. I support teamwork. But let's not pretend that turning men into housewives so that the woman can work her construction job without worrying about cooking dinner when she gets home is a good way to "do it all together". Men should be men. Women should be women. The differences between those two concepts should mean something.

Feminism has made women miserable. It needs to be eliminated.

‘Feminism has made women miserable.”

Sometimes they unwittingly revert back to their natural instincts and nurturing but then the peer pressure pulls them back in.

Peer pressure sucks.

Depends on how you look at it.
If you see feminism as part of a larger conspiracy to destroy the West, it has been wildly successful.
If you see it as something that was meant to improve the lives and circumstances of women, it has been an utter failure.

First wave feminism was ok.

2nd and 3rd wave went off the rails and destroyed the sexes.

It made it impossible to work for most women, as a non-metrosexual male. The don’t really care for real men.

I’ve always said feminism somehow deceived women into trading one job for 1 1/2 or 2. Except for those with enough money to hire domestic help - the women who seem to have driven the thing.

“Nothing feminine about feminism.”

First-wave feminism promoted equal contract and property rights for women, opposing ownership of married women by their husbands.

My grandmother told me back in her day (early 20’s) local banks would not give a single woman out on her own a bank account unless it was co-signed by her father or a adult brother.

No one is more antifeminist (2nd, 3rd, 4th wave) than me but the early stuff was needed for women for basic rights.

Early in my career, I worked for a number of women. Didn’t like it. Decided not to do that any more. Recently had a fine job, got along very well with my boss. But he retired (he had recently been given a new boss and told me that she was “difficult”). They brought in a replacement for my boss and turns out it was a woman. Lesbian. Took me two months to get a new job. I took a small pay cut, but my current boss is not a woman. Worth it.

The big flaw in feminism is that in order to treat women as equal to men, you have to LOWER their stature.

I know a number of young women with very young children who have worked or work now simply to pay for the day care costs. They get up early, drive the children to day care and then go to their job. After work they pick the kids up and go home to perform the evening chores. Next day its a repeat. They are exhausted.

When I’ve questioned them about why they are doing this....and why not stay home with the kids until the kids are old enough to attend school....I get silence or eye rolling.

They are missing out on one of the best parts of life....raising the little ones. They are also allowing the kids to be brainwashed. Another “benefit” I’ve noticed is the kids bring home a lot of sickness they pick up at daycare. This is an added burden to a working mom.

Why are they doing this? Because the stay at home mother role has been ridiculed. They don’t want that label. Career is the all important reward for a feminist. Your career will end, and wont visit you when you are old.

Sad.

I’ve seen women who work part-time and call themselves mothers mocked, whereas women doing “influencing”, “blogging” or selling handicrafts online are cheered if they say they work.

We have an anti-family culture. That’s separate from the anti-father culture, where you never see a mom and dad together with kids on the cover of parenting magazines.
