Here we go again. It’s the time of year when we have to muster the energy to pretend to be happy when a friend tells us their child is headed off to college.
It’s a sad perennial ritual in which a sometimes unique and interesting young person departs and an overconfident, woke and melodramatic clone returns, just months later.
They preen in the glow of their nonconformity, trumpet their individualism and relish in their distinctive worldview, too intoxicated by their self-perceived uniqueness to notice that they are exact facsimiles of millions of other mass-produced units coming off the factory floor.
In short, they are monotonous.
Way too many kids go to college. We’re not talking about the people with their ducks in a row. Trade schools, nursing schools, the fields of engineering and medicine are generally home to kids who are in it to win it.

If you must send your child to college, go with a bargain basement specimen. Whatever helps them rack up the credits and get that precious wall art made of faux parchment. Because the more you spend, the more likely you’ll end up with offspring polluted by leftist waste.
Someday, the illegal aliens will have dropped America’s average I.Q. far enough that we won’t have to send the kids to prostitutions of higher learning to have their I.Q.s dropped.
As we know, young people always want to be different—just like all their friends.
Actual conversations:
A friend: “My child is going to college to study mechanical engineering.”
Me: “Great!”
Another friend: “My child is going to college to study French literature.”
Me: “Oh, my.”

Good advice and conclusion.
“Someday, the illegal aliens will have dropped America’s average I.Q....”
I think the opposite will happen.
The illegals will be the ones with the higher IQ, the ones with the higher initiatives, the hard workers, the risk takers and thus the entrepreneur.
Why do I say that? Because to come to this country illegally you need all of those things.
If you want to know who will lower the IQ of this country, all you have to do is go into the inner cities where people with none of those attributes are reproducing like rabbits and who we reward them with more money each time they have another kid.
I would gladly trade one of those parasites for someone who has the wherewithal to overcome the challenges of coming to this country. One thing I’m firmly against, though, is making it too easy to get in, as the Rats are currently doing. Making it too easy, means you’re getting people that don’t have to have the same level of resourcefulness as if you made the hurdles more difficult.
Having said all that doesn’t mean I’m in favor of illegal immigrantion, I still prefer that we get to select who and how comes here on merit, but given that we aren’t allowed to do that anymore, illegals and their kids, may in the long run, end up being the more successful people.
Don’t you agree?
“Another friend: “My child is going to college to study French literature.”
Me: “Oh, my.””
Could be worse, they could go to college to get a degree in women studies, or sociology,
Waddaya' 'spect ?
Right now my 2 oldest have no interest in college. They know the deal.
Grievance Studies...
My oldest went one semester to a four year college and hated it, even though he got free tuition because his Mom worked at the college. He quit, started taking criminal justice classes part time at a community college and got hired as an armed security guard at the university he quit. He worked there and took a CJ class each semester until he turned 21 and he applied for a local city police department and he’s about to finish up at the state academy and loves it.
My daughter wanted no part of a four year college but did want to become a NICU nurse and she is set to graduate as a nurse from a community college this time next year. My youngest is the only one who appears to like a four year setting and it’s because he has a baseball scholarship.
I have worked at a community college for over 25 yrs and the quality of the students continues to decline. The latest high school grads are the worst. Most can’t write a coherent sentence and verbal communication is sad on their part. The college it’s self would allow a dog to enroll if they thought the dog would pay, all they care about is the $$$.
When people ask me about enrolling I suggest they look into the tech fields as there is lots of money and jobs out there for HVAC, plumbers, welders, nurses, respiratory therapist etc... Some people are just not meant for a four year traditional college and shouldn’t be encouraged to waste time and money in the endeavor.
Working and going to technical college, or getting into the trades is where it is at.
4 year degrees = debt for the most part.
.... but a well trained product. You don’t want the foot soldiers of the revolution smart. You want them obedient and unquestioning.
