Originally, we were told that governments can assume unprecedented control over our lives, businesses, and even our own faces for the goal of not overrunning hospitals. A year later, as we come increasingly close to herd immunity, not only are hospitals in no danger of being overrun, but it turns out that people have likely contracted the virus at a rate that would have occurred without any of these restrictions – and their calamitous damage to society. Twelve months later, it's all pain and no gain.
We've always known that the number of confirmed COVID cases in a given region is only a fraction of the likely infection rate. Now, according to Great Britain's Office for National Statistics (ONS), 54.7% of people in England in a random sample of 30,000 have SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, which includes people who have had been infected or have been vaccinated. Those are the sort of numbers we were promised would happen only if we just "let the virus rip" without any non-pharmaceutical interventions, aka lockdowns and mask-wearing. But it turns out that the virus was always gonna virus, regardless of what hocus-pocus was thrown in front of it...
Also, many people don't produce antibodies or their antibodies wane quickly because the T cells warded off the virus without major symptoms. It is therefore likely that if 55% of Brits have antibodies, a supermajority of citizens are already immune....
Ironically, this news comes at a time of global panic over the "Kent" British variant of the virus, which was supposedly super deadly and contagious, yet Britain itself barely had any cases since the variant was discovered. Which demonstrates this is all about natural geographical and seasonal patters of spread that will continue everywhere until herd immunity is built up, not about specific variants or non-pharmaceutical interventions...

Basically, the virus is going to virus. It is going to hit most countries hard and cause spikes of death until herd immunity sets in--no matter the mitigation measures taken.
He left out the fact that the UK has a very aggressive vaccination program. As of April 4, 46.5% of the population have received at least one dose. Only Israel, at 61%, has a higher percentage. This goes a long way to explaining why so many Brits test positive for Covid anti-bodies.
GB population according to the 2011 census is some 60 Milion. NYC alone has what 8+ Million?
Our own rate of vaccination is also pretty high. The USA is now at 32.1% having received the first dose. Chile (36.7%), the UK (46.5%) and Israel (61%) are the only countries with a higher percentage.
Our fully vaccinated results are even better. Only Israel and Chile have a higher percentage of fully vaccinated than the USA. President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed has paid off handsomely for the USA.
It’s also worth mentioning that Chile has mostly used Sinovac, a questionable vaccine developed in China. The United Kingdom is mostly using Astra-Zeneca, which has known issues with blood clotting.

Being developed in China is indeed questionable! But at least Sinovac is, if I understand it, a traditional vaccine rather than a gene-editing new school “vaccine”

I think many of have suspected that far more people had been exposed with no ill effect than what we believed. This seems to corroborate that and frankly it is very good news.
However, I will not accept this “study” as credible until Fauci comes out and declares that he is confused by it this week before saying he predicted this next week. You cannot believe anything about Covid until our chief medical advisor tells us what to think!
LOL! You’re right about Fauci, that demonic rat. But yes, I believe many of us potentially have antibodies, in fact I might get tested myself since I was laid up for three weeks with all of the C19 sxs in late October of 2019. I’m convinced I had it long before it became a household word.
I have maintained from the beginning that this virus would basically infect everyone at some point and if you were a weak host, you wouldn’t fare so well. It’s super contagious, there’s no immune memory for the vast majority of people and it isn’t really killed by summer like the flu. You’re either going to get Covid or the vaccine or both.
I haven’t gone the vac route yet. My GF was on a cruise in the Bahamas in February 2020. Got back and was down with fairly heavy respiratory issues for a few weeks. She got better.
I got a sore throat for a few days.
Then the world went crazy with plague fever.
We don’t know know for certain that C19 was the cause but considering the initial public, known first victims were in cruise ships, world wide. It’s a fair assumption.
No gene-editing from mRNA vaccines, biology101, look it up, not very hard.
Sinovac is deadened real SARS covid II it is currently the ONLY real world traditional vaccine the irony should not be lost on that. China took the real Rona chemically killed it and injected that into its citizens first. They also had the tech to culture and grow massive quantities of real covid as far back as March of 2020 again way before anyone else in the world figured out how to culture it.live outside the body of a host makes one ask how they had that tech so early and at such a scale to make a live to dead end virus vaccine
