Imho, Trump did not understand Politics in DC. He was the worlds worst Politician. Maybe he thought it was like being CEO of a huge company, where his decisions would have weight because the people had spoken.
It’s Monday morning quarterbacking now, but Trump failed to anticipate that Big Media and Big Tech would combine to shut off social media to conservatives.
In a more perfect world he would have built/funded platforms that were not controlled by the swamp before he ran for POTUS.
How can we blame Trump when even we were fooled and taken in?
We thought Barr and Durham were the real deal; at least I did.
I trusted Cotton too.
Trump couldn’t have drained the Swamp, but he could have saved himself a world of hurt by not firing Michael Flynn and not hiring Sessions. I liked Sessions too, but didn’t realize he would be so weak and fold the way he did.
A president needs to start off with an Attorney General that is his wing man.
Would the Senate have approved Corey Lewandowski ?
Or Peter Navarro, a faithful Trumper ?
Or Stephen Miller? Or Joe DiGenova?
Mark Levin would never have made it through the Senate.
I would have loved to see Devin Nunes as his Attorney General, but then I never heard of him until Russia Gate reared its head.
How about Victor Davis Hanson? Would he have taken the job?
Who would have been the most loyal Trump appointee that would have cleared the Senate? Trump felt he owed Sessions a favor, and most thought he would be loyal too.
The Deep State is so deep that even Freepers like me were taken in by men I thought were honorable.
