Jeff Sessions enabling the coup was Trump’s first strategic loss and (as designed) it wasted much of his first two years of power.

Regarding “Richard Burr” well we saw that Burr lantantly conducted insider trading at the beginning of the COVID crisis. I bet its not the first time for him. Activities like that probably allowd a “grip” on him.
This is why we need term limits and\or repeal of the 17th admendment. Best would be both ! Neither action or a combined one would guarantee honest politicians but it would complicate & to some extent contain & time-limit corruption.

It’s a semantic game but Trump gave them the ammunition to build the campaign of hate against him. And it worked. I know too many people who are otherwise rational people who hated Trump. Sure they were baited by the media but again Trump gave them all too much ammunition to play with. The example of Rosie O’Donnell was just one that I gave. Just to make a point.
