Do it.
I want them to cause as much damage, or more, as they could ever dream of.
Then finally, maybe, perhaps, there’s a chance that people will finally wake up and be willing to do something legitimate.

I have a 1970 and a 1969 Daily driver car. Try tracking my mileage in those.

Well, I don’t participate in such exciting stuff. If you do, tell us all about it :-) I am 74 going on 75 in May and only drive to and from close places for errands and doctor's appointments.

There are miles of private roads on oil & gas leases and large ranches. Likely there are vehicles that are rarely used on public roads.

Don’t go up against the welfare mafia - they have more clout than the working class.

We have a neighbor who owns a very old Volvo. She treats it as if it were her baby, and it never seems to let her down. (in 16 years, I can remember once when she needed battery help.)

Don’t worry! Cell phone technology and GPS will track you where ever you go in your car.

I salute you. I’m 67, and quit driving years ago. I have a husband to do that :-)

The demon rats are had taxes for years supposedly collected to maintain infrastructure. When John made all revenues a common fund for all the demon rat welfare games the set aside tax revenues went to 'other' projects but the taxes continues to be collected under false pretenses. This scam will go the same way, the 'general fund' will accumulate and fraudulent IOUs will be stacked up as the monies are re-allocated for not infrastructure projects the demon rats need to buy off voters.
Did we even raise an alarm when billions were included int he pandemic stimulus that reimburse unions for all the pension funds funneled todemon rat legislators? No, the sheeple are so stupid they cannot even get angry when they're so blatantly lied to and robbed by government.

Democrats know raising the Gas tax is political suicide, so they are trying to float ideas that will confuse their idiot voters.
Canada’s Carbon tax will be $1.64/Gallon. Go ahead ButtGig, I think America is finally ready for a Carbon tax.
Propose it. Make our day.

I live on a country dirt road, so tax what infrastructure buttplug? It’s not even a county maintained dirt road.
To: SeekAndFind
That has not been well thought out. People will drive less. Means less gas tax revenue. Cars will last longer. Means less sales of new vehicles. Car manufacturers will produce less cars. Means less out put, more people out of work and less taxes paid by the manufacturers.
Ultimately, there will be less revenue and more unemployment. What could be better for the economy?

Illegals and their ilk are not going to mess with a mileage tax. At least the current system catches everyone.
