Democrats will vote to get rid of the filibuster.
They don’t believe that it will affect them in the future. They don’t expect that republicans will EVER get back into power. They have the same kind of plans for congress that they had for the presidency. They don’t intend to lose ever again. It’s why Biden let out a Freudian slip when he said that, there may not be a republican party in the future. Even if there is a republican party, it won’t be of any consequences for democrats, since their intention is to hold power FOREVER, sorta like Putin and the Castro brothers did and like Kim in N.Korea does, and the communist party does in China.
What guarantee does Manchin have that he won’t fire her in a month though? Is the money really worth giving away the last of the minority’s rights in the Senate?

I don’t know why, but I do have some faith in Sinema. She marches to the beat of her own drum. There were several times in Trump’s last State of the Union when she clapped, even stood when every woman around her remained stoic. That takes balls.

Corruption runs deep in Washington. I highly doubt if anyone in Washington is honest. As for Manchin, I never bought into the media spin that he was a centrist. He’s no more a centrist than John McCain was a conservative. Manchin’s political philosophy is simple. He simply wants to keep his job and he’ll do ANYTHING to do so. I have to wonder what votes on which issues he sold so his wife could get a job.
