Any other Freepers still enjoy watching the movie 'The Quite Man' on St. Patrick's Day as I do?

Enjoy the movie every St. Patrick’s Day. I’ve visited Cong, Ireland where it was filmed.

Quiet. Is what you meant. I make the same error at times.
I recall seeing that John Wayne , Maureen O’Sullivan movie years ago in black & white. I was a fun movie to watch.
Both stars were very young and full of energy.

There is a certain aspect of
“Taming of The Shrew” in it, at least it seemed that way to me. Richard Burton and Liz Taylor did that years later.

This should be quite the thread.

I’ll quit posting now and remain quite quiet.

Not as manly as The Quilt Man.

My Irish friends from Ireland tell me that on St. Paddy’s day they have their parties with food, drink and two movies they play back to back - “Darby O’Gill and the Little People” and “Quiet Man.”

Maureen O’Sullivan or Maureen O’Hara?
-
I always like watching John Wayne spank Maureen O’Hara in “McLintock!”.

Watching ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ when I was 13 did much in making me more open to the studying Shakespeare than I might had been in my later schooling

That was allowed back then.
I think Cary Grant even dared to spank Kate Hepburn in the movie Bringing Up Baby. Kate (I AM WOMAN) Hepburn!

I will bet many others were introduced to The Bard in the same way. Purists don’t like it, but not everyone can get to a Theater In The Round, or unravel all that Olde English.
