We are doomed, I think, if Americans come to believe that ours is an ignoble country, and has been since its founding. I don’t think any nation has ever thrived when it (or its ruling class) lost faith to that degree.
Yet, we have started teaching students that America is, and always has been, ignoble. Has any nation ever done this? I don’t think so. Those ruling classes that lost faith in their country did so on their own, not because they were educated that way.
Leftists have sought to subvert faith in their country through the way American History is taught. Now, they want to do it through the teaching of “Action Civics.”
The key components of Action Civics are (1) the enlistment of students in protest activity on behalf of leftist causes and (2) indoctrination in “critical race theory.” The first component gets most of the attention from critics, and understandably so. However, the second component is more subversive, for the reason stated at the beginning of this post.
Congressional Democrats (and a few Republicans) are fully on board with the imposition of Action Civics. In fact, they are attempting, in effect, to mandate it via the misleadingly named “Civics Secures Democracy Act” that was introduced in Congress last week.
Plenty of Americans still believe in the fundamental goodness of their country and the greatness of its history. They will not take the imposition of Action Civics lying down.
As a result, Stanley predicts that “the culture war will merge[] with K-12 education-policy disputes to a degree never before seen.” The outcome of that war will go a long way towards determining whether America is doomed.

2) We will be fine if we have the will to rise up and do what is necessary to rid ourselves of our “ruling class.”
#2 cannot be done if we don’t do #1.

The country is split three ways in left,right and the care less who generally side with the left. It really is amazing when the so called red vs blue is shown on a map in what the left actually controls yet the vile stench and tentacles are all over the country.

Changing demographics, culture, morality, and respect for our heritage have conspired to change this country in very profound ways. We are a much different society than we used to be. Not sure we can put the toothpaste back into the tube now.
I try to imagine what life must have been like for the average Roman citizen who lived during the collapse of civic life at the fall of the Roman Empire. What did they see and what did they think? I’m sure they would have found it hard to accept that the world they grew up with that had lasted for hundreds of years was unraveling in real time right before their eyes. I believe we are witnessing and living such a time every day now. And the quisling traitors in the GOPee voted for The Big Steal! They made this happen! GOPee Delenda Est!
That is what I thought also. But then the Democrats openly stole the 2020 Election. Instead of opposing this the Republican Party, the Supreme Court, the lower Courts, the Electoral College all aided and abetted the theft. And not one street Demonstration was organized in protest. Boy was I surprised.

That’s not quite right. There were many protests all over the country, including the march in DC. They just weren’t covered in the media except the march in DC, where the media totally lied about what happened to bullschit the world by labeling it an “insurrection.” For the life of me, I can’t understand why people continue to engage modern media at all. Everything they present is a malicious bald-faced lie. And GOPee Delenda Est!
Not me. The only unexpected thing was that the response to 1/6 was so tame; I would have expected mass arrests and deportations to Gitmo or Devil's Island.
Maybe a little early, but when Kamala takes over next fall...
