This is insane!
The city of Minneapolis reached a $27 million settlement with George Floyd’s family on Friday.
The City Council unanimously approved of the settlement on Friday as jury selection for officer Derek Chauvin’s trial continues.
George Floyd died last spring after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for 8 minutes during an arrest.

How much would the family have received if he had been white?
BLM’s “Gentle Giants” don’t come cheap.
They should just give the whole city to the Floyd family, and make all the white people move out.
WOW being a meth head with covid sure does pay
or,
Innocent for that matter.
That cop had better hope that some Federal judge who reviews this case is reasonable...otherwise he’s gonna come to wish that he had died as a child.
Chauvin doesn’t stand a chance.
Doesn’t matter. It’s not THEIR money.
It’s obvious that Floyd didn’t have what it takes to make it in the WWF.
I wonder who Chauvin’s attorney is?
They hit the lottery. This family is now convinced that Crime DOES pay, and hugely so.
We need to think about the size of these settlements.
This was so high, no doubt due to the international publicity of this case.
$27 million for what? This loser wouldn’t have contributed anything to his family except for constant grief, expense, embarrassment, and an early funeral courtesy of sone gang banger. Damages for wrongful death are usually to compensate the family for loss of income, and loss of affection and companionship.
What is the over/under on how long before the money is gone?
My question too.
Six months tops.
One used purple GL450 and a cherry red Chrysler 300 with a light kit and fur is all that will be left.
Easy to do when it’s someone else’s money.
The family should be billed for the millions, if not billions in damage this criminal caused to the nation.
What percentage of the $27m settlement will go to BLM and various other middlemen ?
That’s a good question.
I would not expect members of the Floyd family to know how to manage such a heavy windfall of sudden wealth.
Financial Planners are likely to already be circling this family, trying to lure them into investing in cacamamie projects.
