My colleague Jeff Charles wrote a great article on how the Nevada Democrat Socialists of America (DSA) have taken over the Democrat Party in the state, and why the traditional leadership chose to resign.

The far-left socialist wing of the Democratic Party just scored a significant victory against the moderate establishment faction, and we can best believe they won’t stop there. In Nevada, socialist Democrats wrestled control over the state party from the moderate establishment, which triggered a mass exodus of employees who tendered their resignations.
Judith Whitmer, who is aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), became the new chair of the Nevada Democratic Party along with a number of other individuals who were elected to key leadership positions.
John Solomon’s Just the News also reported:
The former leadership was prepared for the loss, having recently moved $450,000 out of the party’s coffers and into the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s account. The DSCC will put the money toward the 2022 reelection bid of Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, a vulnerable first-term Democrat, the Intercept also report.
Whitmer ran as a member of the “The NV Dems Progressive Slate,” opposing the “The Progressive Unity Slate,” run by the Democratic Party.
“We weren’t really surprised, in that we were prepared for it,” Whitmer told the Intercept. “But what hit us by surprise and was sort of shocking is that for a slate that claimed that they were all about unity, and kept this false narrative of division going on throughout the entire campaign – in fact they kept intensifying that. That’s what was surprising about it, was the willingness to just walk away, instead of working with us.”
A former party staffer told the Intercept that Whitmer will set the party back.
“I knew I couldn’t work with her and watch her destroy the years of hard work so many operatives put into making our state party the best state party in the country,” the anonymous staffer said.
How did they do it? For starters, Nevada is a Union-heavy state. With Las Vegas as the tip of the spear, the AFL-CIO with its dominant membership overshadows the majority of the Western territory. Unions have always been socialist in their orientation (the collective above the individual), but with the COVID pandemic, “Future of Work” initiatives which have infected every corporate sector and government body, and collaboration with Labor organizations internationally, the DSA’s agenda has shifted beyond pro-worker organization to all aspects of political power and shaping people’s lives.
Be warned. As we learned in California with the battles with the Unions over AB5 and Prop 22, the DSA has no interest in co-existence. They will do whatever it takes to keep and secure power and force behind their agendas. The primary one being turning America into a socialist country.
As Jeff alerted in his piece,
The civil war between the socialist and moderate factions of the Democratic Party is in full swing, and if this story is any indication, the far-left is willing to play the long game and focus on dominating politics at the state level. Some have already indicated that DSA-backed groups nationwide intend to use similar strategies to take over state and local Democratic offices.
Democrat Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016 was a huge inroads into the Democrat political establishment within the state, and the Nevada DSA used this to their advantage. According to the Heritage Foundation, 2.052 million people under the age of 30 voted for Sanders in the 2016 Democratic primaries and caucuses. NV-DSA used that momentum to not only grow its organization, but take over an entire state party apparatus. According to them, their membership grew by 150 percent within the last year.

With the help of @LeftCaucus, we kept the Bernie coalition organized and focused. We nominated overwhelming numbers from our ranks to the Clark County Central Committee and packed the State Central Committee at the conventions, laying the groundwork for yesterday 3/11

Once 2016 was over, NV-DSA had the long game in mind, and kept their coalition focused, sharp, and also committed to seeding candidates at the local level to carry their message.
During election season we endorsed four of our members running for office: Anna Albertson, Radhika Kunnel, Lola Brooks, and Erika Ballou. NV-DSA prepared and mounted four candidates to run in local elections, and two of those candidates won. So, not only has the NV-DSA infiltrated the court system (remember those election fraud investigations?), but the school board. When you control the courts, the minds of the young, and the vote, you control the playing field.
Conservatives need to have this type of long-term focus and maintain it. As Jeff said in his piece, Conservatives are too often focused on the short game, when long-term strategy is required. The Democrat Socialists of America’s agenda is to remake the country, not just take over a party. Conservatives need to focus on how to combat this with long-term plans which include Conservative candidates at the local levels.
Jeff Charles also did a terrific article unpacking Black Guns Matter founder Maj Toure’s CPAC panel about where the Republican Party has failed to engage Black Conservatives and make inroads into Black communities. While the GOP continues to fail in this arena, NV-DSA succeeds by embedding into poor communities with aid and benevolent assistance. Food drives, especially during times of crisis and the holidays, practical information on how to get services, transportation to those services, you name it, and NV-DSA made sure they supplied it. The COVID pandemic was the perfect opportunity for not only the NV-DSA, but all DSAs to ramp up on their policies and programs, while Conservatives and Republicans were battling over constitutional issues and civil liberties. Worthy and necessary battles for sure, but while we were getting pounded on one flank, we unfortunately ceded ground for Democrat socialists to infiltrate vulnerable populations through practical acts of kindness, thereby giving them ground to steep these communities with their message and agenda. Take a look at the Georgia-run off elections for a case study in this. Stacey Abrams, the New Georgia Project, and other organizations involved in that election had the fingerprint of the DSA written all over it.
The old phrase, “you attract more flies with honey rather than vinegar” applies, and Chicago and other inner-city Ward bosses have been doing this for decades. When you address a practical need and connect them to your ideas, people will be more receptive to receiving those ideas, especially if they have already been indoctrinated through the media and a corrupted public education system.
The entire national approach to the COVID-19 pandemic could be summed up in this heading. The only thing that managed to get protected was Jeff Bezos’s wealth, while the elderly were forced to die. However, just because Democrats and Democrat Socialists did not succeed in fully destroying the lives of Americans and the freedoms that make our country great doesn’t mean they plan to stop trying.
Again, long game.

No doubt, and DSA is targeting Texas too. With the full opening of the state and the lifting of any mask mandates, Texas businesses who are choosing to not maintain mask requirements for their establishments will now become the focus of harassment.

Good news, Texas! You can look forward to phony claims and propaganda campaigns against already struggling small businesses who just want to recoup the losses they suffered last year. After all, this is the quickest way to ensure their demise. Once DSA gets rid of these entities that represent freedom, they will have cleared prime ground for union-friendly shops to enter the fray with promises of protecting “workers”. It’s an old game, but it still works.
Conservatives need to not only make it a point to patronize these small businesses, but be an advocate and assist them in creating freedom coalitions. These coalitions can help to educate small businesses on how to protect themselves against this new round of efforts and attacks to destroy their agency.

NV-DSA’s organizing strategy involved sharing their ideas, along with contrasting them with what they feel has gone wrong with America’s Capitalist society, and what the Democrat Socialists plan to do in order to change it.
Their educational aims are working. When you have over 50 percent of young adults 30 and under thinking that socialism is the direction the country should take, you have a problem with not only information, but dissemination of ideals.
Conservatives need to make Civics education, and financial literacy a thing. Teaching children (and some adults) about how our Constitution and electoral system works, how capitalism works, and why both are important for maintaining freedoms should be given greater attention.

The next train DSA plans to ride is to ensure the PRO Act becomes law. We have covered California’s AB5 extensively, and how it has destroyed the livelihoods of millions in the state. The PRO Act is AB5 on steroids, with the same ABC Test that outlawed independent contractors ability to work. The PRO Act would spread the disease of AB5 nationally, to every state in the Union. No more right to work, no more independent businesses, removal of any opt-out options for unions who want to organize, among other poison pills loaded into the law.

If Conservatives need to learn one thing it is this: stop playing defense and get on offense, and teach our young people to do the same. We must pay attention to what the other side is doing, and where we cannot replicate, we need to combat.

On the positive side, maybe my fellow Nevadans will finally recognize how far to the left Democrats are, and vote for Republicans next time, presuming they’re credible.
These resignations just play into the communist’s hands. Now they’ll just fill all the jobs with their own people. This is exactly how Obama corrupted the FBI and the CIA.
The modern left are communists. Their only disagreement is over how high they can safely for their freak flag and without costing them elections.

I feel for the normal people of Nevada, because I live in the Democrat socialist state of Oregon.
In the Oregon Democrat primary in 2016, Bernie Sanders beat Hillary by a margin of 56% to 43%. In the 2020 primary these voters became “strategic” and backed Biden by 66% to 21% for Sanders. Getting rid of Orange Man was their only concern.
The Democrats have lurched to the left since their meltdown in 1968. The Republicans get accused of being rightwing extremists by the progressives and the media, but the country isn’t more conservative then it was 40 or 50 years ago.
Socialism is on the move and “suburban types” are more worried about imaginary racism and environmental hysteria. Its disgusting.
We need to take over the Republican Party.. The DSA are organized. Yes, they don’t have a life, but we won’t if DSA become the PARTY (aka Communist). They will kill us...

The difference is organization and drive. The other side is infinitely better at organizing and much more driven to advance their agenda.
Our side is mostly armies of ones.
