Lawyers for former President Donald Trump sent a cease and desist letter to the Republican National Committee (RNC) over the weekend demanding that they stop using his name and likeness for fundraising efforts.
The letters were also sent to the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC).
This follows a report that Trump and his new campaign team are also cracking down on the use of the president’s name for fundraising
According to a scoop from Politico on Saturday, Trump wants the organizations to stop “using his name and likeness on fundraising emails and merchandise.”
On Monday the RNC responded and told Trump attorneys to stuff it — the Republican Party will continue to raise donations using Trump’s name!

At the CPAC, Trump said it was fake news about him forming a 3rd party.
He made it clear then that he was staying with the GOP.
Now he’s saying that GOP cannot use his name to raise money???
Someone please help me with this.
All Trump has to do is say fine, I will ask ALL MY SUPPORTERS to never give the RNC 1 dime! I for one wont
The RNC better think REALLY HARD if they’re going to take on Trump. It’s still early and nothing stops Trump from starting a Third Party and leaving the Republicans to battle the Libertarians for the Number 3 spot in elections.

This isn’t a case. They sent a letter. Now they go to court if they want to.
Still don’t understand how they can use the mans name to make money without his permission.
Could they use Barbara Streisand as an RNC fund-raiser? Alec Baldwin? Rosie O’Donnell? Those folks probably would like being portrayed as Republican allies, but who cares?? What are they gonna do? File a lawsuit?? HAHAHAHA!

I think what he was saying was that he, Trump, wants to collect off of his name (as well he should), and the direct that money towards worthy causes, like giving Senator Murkowski a nice to kitchen to spend the rest of her life in.
Well, Trump will do that, whether he’s still in the Republican Party, or not.

RNC ....and ANY other Rethuglican affiliated organization can go pound sand.
Because they’ll control the money they make using his name and use it to continue to elect the likes of McConnell, Thune, Kinzinger, Rubio, etc etc etc. the folks that stabbed him in his back, frequently.

He doesnt want the money going to support the RINOs like Mitt, and Liz. They know Trump is the money draw.
I would go to them and say “Fine, you want to use my name and all, then you can kick back abt 20% to me for it.”
If not, then we go to court and I sue.
Why ? Trump showed them to be Junior Partners of the DNC, so for them it's "mission accomplished" after HR 1 gets passed and signed into law ...
