Cedric Richmond, a senior adviser to President Biden, says the administration is “going to start acting now” on reparations for African-Americans.
In an interview with Axios on HBO, Richmond reminded viewers that Biden continues to support House Resolution 40, a piece of legislation resubmitted last year by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) which would create a “reparations commission.”

He added, “We have to start breaking down systemic racism and barriers that have held people of color back, and especially African-Americans who were enslaved.”
“We’re going to start acting now,” Richmond said.

It is going to fun to watch democrats wiggle out of that vote.
Will all of the illegal aliens have to pay reparations?
so many questions...
How about a one way economy ticket to wherever they want in Africa?
Just attempting to cement the devotion and votes of of their black slaves...
The ties to Africa of “African-Americans’ is as tenuous as their ties to the institution of slavery that was abolished in the U.S. generations ago.
They are not owed a penny. Not the thinnest of dimes.
We are simply not in any way in arrears to black people in this country.
Good idea. Like the lawyers' and courts' money off the top leaves that sum in lawsuits. You're right.
Much, much sooner than that.
Ha!!! They’ll be given more $$$$ than most people who work make in a year!
By the way, since we ALL originated from Adam and Eve, do we all qualify?
“The goal is to destroy the United States of America”
1) Reparations are built into the tax code
2) Mass civil disobedience; Tax receipts collapse
3) Loss of world confidence in the dollar (finally)
4) Dollar’s Reserve Currency status gone
5) ** Insert resulting economic disaster here **
And the people who had nothing to do with slavery will get taxed to pay for them?
So, the person from South Africa who descended from a Brit gets reparations? Not on your life! This money is not meant for him even if he’s African-American.
One finger joe is banging those nails in the wooden box around the coffin of the USA. Who will remove those nails?
The question is: will Kamala (Heels-Up) be on the recipient or payer side?
The Bolsheviks are “sowing the wind”.
Trillions of dollars (someone posted the estimate amount here previously) went to government programs and monetary stipends to blacks since the Great Society began in 1964 under Lyndon Johnson.
No way to measure the amounts such as denied chances to a top university education for a white son or daughter, denied professional job opportunities and promotions so arbitrary percentages are met as quotas and denied chance for your business or construction contract because of "set asides".
Agree that many black people are now achieving at high standards in all walks of life and many would not have done this if denied a chance due to racism, but since 1964 does every black person still need a hand-up due to lack of a chance? Civil rights laws protect them from egregious discrimination, not a guarantee of outcome equality.

Many of the reparations proposals only give individuals a minimal amount. The proponents often mention that the majority of the funds should go to black organizations who would spend the money to improve the overall livelihood of blacks by ‘investing’ in the inner cities. IOW, reparations become a slush fund for Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and BLM.
I guess having half of your family wiped out who fought on the Union side of the Civil War doesn't count as "reparations," huh?
Also: The reparations will never be enough. The demand for more reparations will thus never stop.
Regards,
What about all the white slaves brought into America. There were a lot of them.
