Mitt got his ass kicked. Ever watch a street fight or a boxing match.

No one falls and gets a black eye and a cut lip. That was a smack down.
The picture I’ve seen of Sen. Romney’s facial injuries are not, in my opinion, consistent with a fall. He is shown with stitches to his lower left lip, cuts to his left cheek, a blackened right eye and stitches to his right eyebrow. I do not see how he could have acquired such injuries without also breaking his nose, by a fall and accidently striking his face on a hard surface. Of course, the picture I saw could be photo-shopped. Photographic evidence is subject to major alteration, these days.
However, on the basis of that image, somebody worked him over, gave him a right seeing to. And they marked his face to send a message, not to Sen. Romney, but to the other persons in his position: “No matter how wealthy and powerful you think you are, no matter how privileged and protected, we can get to you and mess you up. Remember that when we tell what to do or say.”
The question is who ‘they’ are/were.
