Gun control groups are playing a “long game” or better put, a “long con,” because they believe they will win in inches not miles. Today it is banning assault rifles, and once they get that they’ll move on. Anyone who actually believes these lobby groups will go away should think again. Not only because these individuals – misguided they may be by some accounts – believe in their cause, but it is an industry now.
Yes, and a lot of their victories are through the courts, not the legislative process, e.g., abortion and pervert marriage.
Mental masturbation you young pup.
They’re banning them a piece at a time.
I live in Oregon where the gun laws are front and center, yesterday they voted on a bill to ban all concealed carry around any federal, county or city building, pretty much everywhere. My county 3 hours south of Portland, is a gun sanctuary and the Sheriff is not coming to get our guns, if the laws they pass are contrary to 2nd amendment rights.
I live in a sanctuary county as well.
These pearl clutchers are to be ignored. The second will never go quietly into the night.
Yes, they fight.
The NRA fights, but we have many on our side who do not support the NRA.
We are not unified.
“The NRA is a rifle organization!
I would argue the NRA is a political organization that is just as incremental as the Congress in the game of slicing and dicing the Second amendment until it does not exist. As an organization, they have been active since 1871 in every single egregious infringement of Shall Not Be Infringed either by inaction, or compromise.
The NRA policy that allows Democrat politicians to escape their parties outright hypocrisy by receiving a pro second amendment endorsement should be proof enough of their duplicity. The Democrat party is guilty of using portions of the Constitution of the United States to protect them while engaged in incessant attacks on the Second Amendment.
The Con must be pretty easy given their membership numbers despite the infighting for power that has gone on for years within the organization. The NRA died for me with the death of Neal Knox, who fought for what most of us desire, an uncompromising NRA that doesn’t back down to politicians running rough shod over the second amendment.
1992: Assault rifle ban passed by Clinton.
And gave North Korea a nuclear reactor how’s that for democrat logic safety first huh.
“Newton”
Several of us freepers actually live in Newtown, which is the real name of the town.
I feel the media calls it Newton quite often not as a mistake, but as a purposeful detractor.
They do everyday.
There is only one reason for government to disarm the people: Because they plan to do things to the people for which the people would shoot them!
Until the RATS pack the Court and just like that, the BS doctrine of stare decisis— which, for those of you in Rio Linda, is Latin for Roe v. Wade is sacrosanct—goes out the window and they rule the 2nd Amendment itself is unconstitutional.
Understand this: MILLIONS OF US will NOT "register" ANY firearm. No matter what "compromises" are offered.
I do see your point: in many ways, we are winning.
I am carrying concealed right now in Alabama, which wasn't possible just decades ago. And, at least theoretically, it is possible to do the same in every state of the union, though the reciprocity situation is terrible.
MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of Americans have joined the ranks of gun owners since 1990, and have voted for gun rights by signing that 4473 and getting themselves a gun. The polls, if you can believe them, are more positive for gun rights than they have been in a century.
On the flip side, Democrats no longer fear losing elections, because they control them. So, they will use their power to do what they want. Still, we will not comply.

I sat down one day and started to wonder just how many confiscators the government could come up with VS. the American Public.
A quick search showed up those numbers.
NEVER REGISTER YOUR GUNS! Inventory those you have to see how many cannot be traced. If you have traceable guns, trade them off for untraceable guns.
“You demand WHICH GUN? I traded that one off for cash at a gun show years ago!”
