Capitol Police protect the Capitol and members of Congress. Some of the leadership get Protection Details, just like the President and VP get Secret Service details. Speaker of the House and some others get Capitol Police.
Certain foreign dignitaries will get Secret Service details when they come to the US, others will get folks from the State Dept-Diplomatic Security Service.
They all got their own little minions that they control. Imagine that, right? The Democrats wanting to control everything. Shocking.

The photo of the shooter’s wrist with same bracelet is in a hallway in another part of the building— a locked hallway that the House members and some Senators were taken down to a secure area (down the white painted hallway) staffed with Secret Service— not Capitol Police). Two different locations.
The side shot of the shooter’s pistol grip, pointing and firing is a still shot from a video which can be analyzed digitally “frame by frame” (in the old parlance with film frames).
Who this individual is— will be very important. If he is Schumer’s detail, then there are many more questions.
Note that the Capitol Chief Sund was “asked for resignation”, and resigned (was fired) immediately after all this— and demanded by both McConnell and Pelousi et al. Highly suspicious. As the new evidence is that the FBI only sent a freaking “email” warning about AntiFA surveillance info about the coming attack— not seen by Capitol Police?

In any case he has PISS POOR (ask any real police officer or detective, or professional SWAT) firearm safety/handling. Sort of like the Somalian Minneapolis “cop” who killed an unarmed woman while she was talking with is partner who was driving the vehicle— and shot across his face front, out/through the door/window into the woman!
He should NOT be acquitted. He should not be turned loose for even a private contractor outfit— at least not in this country, maybe Africa somewhere.

There is no such animal in US law. Despite pop culture a cop cannot simply say they were in fear of their life absent any other articulable and “reasonable man” threat. She was a trespasser and that’s it. She had no weapon of any kind. She was not heard to utter any kind of murder threat. She was not even aware of his existence in the ambush position he took.
Sorry, but the capitol building is not like a nuclear weapons bunker where deadly force was authorized. Any city cop, anywhere in America would be arrested and charged for this murder.
I suspect the Internet Austists on our side will have this guy identified within 24 hours. It just takes one person to recognize him and that’s that...
This wardrobe issue as been addressed over and over again.
The Capitol Police that work near or within the House and Senate floors are plain clothes. They do not wear uniforms.
Just like the Secret Service.......the agents at the gates and around the grounds wear uniforms.......the agents with the President and others do not.
You still have to pull the trigger for it to discharge. I have used firearms for over 70 years and never had a gun discharge that I didn't intend for it too. I always had finger at the ready on the trigger when I was possible shoot area, never once fired off a round accidentally. Find something else to obsess over, that is an imaginary problem.
Some weapons were made with the safety inside the trigger guard which required the finger to be inside the trigger guard to release, not sure but I may still have one.
Hannity is such a tool.
And every bit of that 99% would show up at his house and slap cuffs on him when told to do so, without asking a single question.
