An Emergency Order from the Biden administration’s Department of Energy shows Texas energy grid operator ERCOT was instructed to stay within green energy standards by purchasing energy from outside the state at a higher cost, throttling power output throughout the state ahead of a catastrophic polar vortex.

It is almost as bad as Prince Andrew’s Senior Citizen Genocide.

I'm not buying any of these explanations at all.
Until I see a full assessment of the fiasco, I think it's more likely that the Texas power grid simply hasn't been expanded sufficiently to keep up with the huge growth in population and businesses there.

Throttling wasn’t the issue, the issue was that only the poor areas were throttled, the people in the suburbs had power throughout. That’s messed up.
I would of had no issue, if EVERYONE had been throttled to save the grid, 2 hours on 2 hours off. But instead it was poor areas = throttled for days, rich suburbs = never throttled or lost power.

Democrats kill seniors in nursing homes.
Democrats kill Texans by withholding energy that's available.
Democrats kill a unarmed trespasser in Capital Building that posed no threat.
Democrats are bad for your health.

They've idled power plants for no other reason than Climate Change. Coal plants deliver clean reliable energy.

Take a look at the Ercot report from 2011 complaining that Obama’s war on coal (lots of lignite coal plants in Texas shuttered due to EPA regs that were impossible to achieve) was compromising the grid.
The green energy alternatives were only enough to keep up with population growth but not enough to close the gap. I wrote an article about it years ago for the Arlington Voice; unfortunately, it is not out there anymore and the computer i wrote it on died, otherwise I would repost it.
This is on Obama and Biden.

Sorry, this isn’t factual. There are million dollar homes in Austin that had power out for 4 days.

So this their plan to turn Texas blue. Exploit a crisis and blame it on Republicans failures. I love how its Cruz’s fault for leaving town. A sitting US senator has no power or authority to make any decisions that would have helped the state.

people in the suburbs had power throughout. No we didn't. Power was out for 4 days. Water is still out. Replacement parts for plumbing to be delivered in 7 to 10 days.
To: TexasFreeper2009
That’s absolutely false. Many DFW suburbs and even the richest areas were out the most. They didn’t ‘roll’ at all, just out. Lots of places never went out. This entire thing was sheer incompetence from top-down.

Have you heard of the exorbitant bills PUCT expects the residents to pay? What will they do?
To: TexasFreeper2009
I'm not sure how true that is. My SIL and her family live in Katy (not far from my first home...), Clay and Barker-Cypress area. Nice homes there, and they were without power for over 36 hours.
Can't say whether it was a throttled brownout or a snapped power line/transformer...

Wr had rolling blackouts in OKC. They did not shut off “the hood” because the houses are to old and poorly insulated to withstand sub zero temps. Instead they shut off the suburb white flight areas with the newer houses

You aren’t commenting from a position of knowledge.
There has been a lot of immigration, but the solar and wind in combination with no winterizing of existing lines led to this. As I’ve stated in another article, we do just fine up in the north.
