Sen. Ted Cruz is in the doghouse with some critics who blasted him for reportedly leaving his pet pooch, Snowflake, at home amid freezing temps — as he and the rest of the family jetted off to Cancun, Mexico.
The Republican lawmaker has claimed in the wake of public outrage that he was merely escorting his pre-teen daughters on their trip with friends — noting that, like millions of his fellow Texans, his family had lost heat and water.

Im sure every other wealthy Texan headed for the hills too. I would have.
Leaving a pet alone (even with a guard checking in)in those temperatures is UNFORGIVABLE.

How is it that Ted Cruz is the ubiquitous FreeRepublic whipping boy for piss poor leftist energy policies and bad weather?

I think it was fine, the dog was inside. The guy in the story said he was taking care of it.
This is all rumor. Maybe Cruz had someone tasked to come in and feed the dog and walk it while he was gone. Who knows?
Naming the dog snowflake is an insult to the dog, that’s the only abuse I can see.
Give me a break. Even without electricity, his house would have been at a minimum in the 40’s. There are plenty of dogs in people’s back yards around me doing fine and it is in the 20’s.
Ted probably thought his dog had a thick coat and could weather the
cold and no water. What kind of man abandons his dog, much less
his State.

No kidding, this doesn’t even meet the standards of the Babylon Bee. Even so, he deserves whatever is heaved on him.
Let us all obey the gaslight presstitutes and pile onto Ted.

A poodle inside a modern house, left with plenty of food and water and a place to go to the bathroom without getting in trouble, will be just fine. It’s a dog. You can’t take dogs everywhere you go unless you insist that they are emotional support animals. Doesn’t change the fact that they are dogs. We leave our dogs at home in the house for many hours and they are fine, even when it is cold and rainy.
These days, Karens are taking over the world. There is always something to complain about. Nobody ever gets tired of putting down other people. It’s just another form of virtue signalling. I am so much better than you because I drive a Prius. You suck because the only reason you drive a Prius is to look like you care about the environment. I love dogs. You pretend to love dogs.
