A group of “anti-Trump” Republicans led by former independent presidential candidate Evan McMullin is considering forming their own political party.
The Hill reports that over 120 individuals took part in a conference call to discuss the matter.
The group consisted of former employees of the Trump administration, along with Reagan and Bush administration officials, and former Republican members of Congress.
The group “are in talks to form a political party that would break away from supporters of former President Trump,” the report states.

After watching the rise and fall of the Lincoln Project, I am beginning to realize - these people do not really care about broad-based support, as you or I would imagine a political party
Its about maintaining their prime access to money flow and virtual reality creation of their image in the MSM - and that’s not from you or me. Its from insiders of large corporate media, tech and various oligarchs.
I think it is a ruse to keep Trump supporters in Republican Party because we will think they all left. Remember they think and act like Democrats..
They already have a party. The Uniparty.
Uh, isn’t that the gop-E’s job?
They aren’t Republicans, they haven’t voted for. Republican president in over 10 years
They’ll get all of JEB’s voters.
They’re de facto ‘rats’ now.
BINGO!
They have one. It is the GOP, a party for which I will never vote.
...they haven’t voted for a Republican president who won in nearly 20 years
The Trump Derangement Syndrome continues apace.
The question becomes WHY? If anyone should be starting a new party, it should Trump and his supporters (like me).
The one thing I do note, regarding timing, is that the Lincoln Project’s Gay Mafia, recruiting of little boys, and the subsequent cover up of their activities just started making the news when this ‘new party’ first started being discussed. Maybe a coincidence, who knows?
In any case, this ‘new party’, by this bunch, does not make any sense, since they already have a party.
Good idea, they need to be on their own.
If this really caught on, the establishment Republicans types would leave the party. They would no longer be able to insert people like Burr into Senate. Unfortunately it won’t get very far because the corporations won’t pump money into it.
They really don’t know their voter audience, do they?
So someone who wasn’t a Republican is leading Republicans to form a new party...
Okay. Sure. Whatever.
If they need help with a name, I’m recommending “Traitors.”
It just seems to, fit . . .
And they will be able to hold their National Convention is a local Dennys.
