This is how you act when you believe you’re bullet proof. – Biden Deputy Press Secretary T.J. Ducklo became the subject of a bullying scandal on Friday when it was revealed he he had threatened a Politico reporter, Tara Palmeri, when she questioned him about an affair he had been conducting with a reporter for Axios. It seems that the White House press corps is just a swirling soap opera of sexual shenanigans.
You didn’t have to worry about these things during the Trump administration, since everyone hated one another. But in a Democrat administration, they’re all trying to get each other into bed. And Ducklo thinks he can get away with this kind of behavior because his bosses will have his back.
Sadly, he’s pretty much right, given that his immediate boss, Jen Psaki circled back to him with just a one-week suspension.

AWhite House official tried to quash a story about his relationship with a reporter by issuing threats and using derogatory language to another reporter pursuing it, according to two sources familiar with the incident. In a sympathetic profile Monday, People revealed that White House Deputy Press Secretary TJ Ducklo is dating Axios political reporter Alexi McCammond, who covered the Joe Biden campaign. But behind the scenes, Ducklo had previously lashed out at Politico reporter Tara Palmeri, who was reporting the story, exhibiting behavior that led to tense meetings between the Washington news outlet’s editors and senior White House officials.
After Vanity Fair published this account, the White House announced that Ducklo would be suspended for one week.
The confrontation began on Inauguration Day, January 20, after Palmeri, a coauthor of Politico’s Playbook, contacted McCammond for comment while one of her male colleagues left a message for Ducklo, according to the sources. Ducklo subsequently called a Playbook editor to object to the story, but was told to call the Playbook reporters with his concerns. But instead of calling the male reporter who initially contacted him, Ducklo tried to intimidate Palmeri by phone in an effort to kill the story. “I will destroy you,” Ducklo told her, according to the sources, adding that he would ruin her reputation if she published it.
During the off-the-record call, Ducklo made derogatory and misogynistic comments, accusing Palmeri of only reporting on his relationship—which, due to the ethics questions that factor into the relationship between a journalist and White House official, falls under the purview of her reporting beat—because she was “jealous” that an unidentified man in the past had “wanted to fuck” McCammond “and not you.” Ducklo also accused Palmeri of being “jealous” of his relationship with McCammond. (Palmeri had no prior relationship or communication with McCammond before calling her to report on the Playbook item, which was a story that she was assigned and had not independently pursued.)

So, the guy gets a one-week suspension without pay from the White House for the act of bullying and threatening a female reporter, an infraction for which he’d be walked out of the building permanently by security in the real world. But hey, these are 21st century leftists who don’t really give a damn about women’s rights, as evidenced on their policies that discriminate against actual women in favor of men who “identify” as girls.

Ducklo’s misogynistic outburst is even more problematic considering his history of employment. His role as Biden’s deputy press secretary is not the first time Ducklo has flacked for someone accused of sexual assault.
For example, Ducklo was the senior communications director for NBC News between 2018 and 2019, when the network was struggling to contain the fallout from the numerous sexual assault allegations leveled against disgraced daytime host Matt Lauer. Journalist Ronan Farrow has accused senior NBC News executives of turning a blind eye to Lauer’s predatory behavior and of actively thwarting his efforts to report on disgraced Democratic donor Harvey Weinstein’s history of misconduct.
Ducklo may or may not have interacted with Weinstein when he did communications for the Motion Picture Association of America from 2011 to 2014. He definitely hung out with the group’s chairman, former senator Chris Dodd (D., Conn.), who is best known for making a “waitress sandwich” with the late Ted Kennedy, among other forms of disreputable behavior toward women.
Dodd, who served on Biden’s vice presidential selection committee in 2020, was exceedingly reluctant to weigh in on the (in some cases criminal) allegations against Weinstein, whom he called a “friend” who was “very helpful to me as a candidate for Congress and as a senator over the years.” Anita Dunn, one of Ducklo’s colleagues in the Biden White House, went so far as to provide Weinstein with “damage control advice” as the disgraced producer sought to avoid being convicted on rape charges.
