By the end of the summer, the first unit in the U.S. Army could be equipped with a hypersonic weapon.
While the Pentagon hasn’t announced which unit that will be, the Army has reportedly sent the unit equipment it will need to prepare for the rigorous training program required to operate the new platform.

Pronanly to use against us....
“Probably”—Sorry. Vision sucks.
RE: The U.S. Army Is Getting Ready For Hypersonic Weapons
The Chicoms and Ruskies already have them.
It is for the foreign troops to use against us.
Army Hypersonic missile, range 1000 miles
“Lockheed Martin envisions mounting OpFires to a heavy truck chassis and transporting it on a C-130 Hercules transport. That could result in the ability for OpFires to conduct “raids,” flying into remote airstrips near the edge of the battle area, firing off its missiles, and then quickly departing. Today, that mission is practiced by HIMARS rocket crews, but OpFires would allow the Army to shoot much farther into the enemy’s interior. “
If it had not been for Trump, we would be even further behind in this technology.
Please Joe, save us./s
Eons ago I was listening to either Long John Nebel or Barry Farber. There was the usual discussion about all things UFO.At the end of the night one guest asked another, a Brit sci fi author, what nation or agency would likely be investigating this type of tech. He answered immediately “ the United States Navy”. The Navy he opined had a long history in investigating and developing advanced tech even if they had not publicized their results. So if there are to be hypersonic weapons I would not be surprised if the Navy not only had them, but had a means of defending against them.
The Army has had an hypersonic weapons for a number of years. The weapon itself was tested and proven to be effective. The weapons carrier, the fire control systems, and other essential elements of the fielded weapons system may or may not have been developed, tested, etc.
I don’t know if the delay was money, technical integration, or bureaucratic infighting. It may be all of the above.
I’m pretty sure that the Navy was looking at the same weapon.
