House GOP Accuses Biden of Rejecting Scientific Consensus on School Reopenings

A group of 66 House Republicans accused President Joe Biden of rejecting the scientific consensus that schools can safely reopen, a move they say harms American children.

Led by Rep. Jason Smith (R., Mo.), the lawmakers sent Biden a Thursday letter urging him to "follow the science" by pushing state and local leaders across the U.S. to reopen schools. The letter notes that there is "little evidence to show in-person instruction in classrooms contributes to the spread of COVID-19," citing a January study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. It also criticizes the Biden administration for contradicting top government scientists. After CDC director Rochelle Walensky said there are "increasing data to suggest that schools can reopen," White House press secretary Jen Psaki dismissed the comment, claiming Walensky "spoke in her personal capacity."

Safe for the students themselves.

Not as much for everyone around them at school and at home.

Actually, it’s safe for teachers and staff, as well. There is plenty of evidence that elementary age children, at least, do not contract or spread the virus.

Yes. Most of the schools in our area have been fully or mostly reopened, back to in person learning since the school year began in August. Not 100%, but a lot more than the possible 1 day per week, limited to 8th grade and under, that Biden is considering to be “back in the classroom”.

I’d have marginally more respect for the GOPe if they stopped playing along with the charade that BiteMe is in charge.

The GOP is always at their rhetorical best when out of power.

I’m done with ‘em.

It’s about time the RATs start claiming that consensus is not science. And then next week they will insist that we’re all going to die in the next 12 years because of global warming since there has been scientific consensus ever since algore raised the issue.

We could win all elections if the GOPe wasn’t scared bitches. The left ‘borg’ are relentless and stay together no matter. Mafia families always do.

Replace them roughly every 10 years (term limits) and the problem is greatly reduced. A contiguous decade in DC is a enough !

Two terms (12 years) in the Senate then the must sit out a term (6 years) before returning My preference is two and done but this is acceptable. Most of these clowns would disappear and end up as town drunks if they had to sit out a term.

Five terms (10 years) in the House then must sit out 2 to 3 terms (4 or 6 years) before returning.

Since you’ll never get rid of the busy body professional politician re-direct him. Let him leave DC & go back & run for governor, county commissioner, mayor maybe even get a private sector job but above all let them go back to their states & districts. Hanging out at DC Beltway PR & K street jobs don’t count !

They won’t ever let that happen President Trump is the only one that isn’t a GOPe. Citizens are screwed. Most anyway. They believe in all the left’s rhetoric and everything will be free and hunky-dory. Hard to get the brainless to understand. They will when there is no freedom. People need to be able to advance and set goals to be somebody, for their own well being. If everyone ‘wins’, there is no reason to try.

Nothing will be done with this feckless crowd.

They will howl at the base and then run scared when the media approaches them.

They have no will and no desire to take a stand against anything.
