Byron York's Daily Memo: Reports of GOP death premature
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/11/2021 | Byron York

Posted on 02/11/2021 5:15:43 AM PST by Onthebrink

Republicans have tried to tie all sorts of Democratic leaders to a few Democratic extremists -- say Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez or Rep. Ilhan Omar. But don't confuse the chatter for the facts. Republicans nearly won last November. That was followed by some terrible months, with Trump's refusal to accept the election results, the January 6 Capitol riot, and now, the Trump impeachment trial. The GOP took a serious hit. But the current problems will pass, and the Republican Party can emerge stronger in the future.

Republican Party can emerge stronger in the future.

Only if Trump is leading it. Otherwise it is a third party, right down there with the Green and Libertarian Party. MAGA Party like it's 2024!

“...with Trump’s refusal to accept the election results.”

No need to read beyond that point...

explain to me how at least the loss of 80+ million voters moving from the GOP and to the New party , thus collapsing the GOP financially and physically would make the New Party less that fully funded to a tune of around 8 BILLION dollars make them anything less than the 2nd party, in point of fact I contend it would be the most powerful Party in the Country ??

We would be very interested in your summation.

Blessings

The GOP is so dead that if it could vote, it would vote Democrat.

“””The GOP took a serious hit. But the current problems will pass, and the Republican Party can emerge stronger in the future.”””

This will only happens when the current GOP Leadership grows some new spines.

The MAGA Party, or America First, or whatever President Trump chooses to call it, would indeed become the largest alternative to the demoncrap party overnight, if he were to found it. It would also lack the baggage associated with the Republican Party, and might just compel more D voters to switch, just as we saw D's coming out of the woodwork at Trump rallies to support his platform over the Summer.

I think the GOP leadership is more aligned to the commie left at this point, so they will probably come out of their closets so to speak if Trump forms a new party. Good riddance to the bush leaguers.

The GOP is clueless to the sense of betrayal we feel

Don’t bet on it.

I’ve been voting R since 1978, I’m done.

This will only happens when the current GOP Leadership is gone.

The GOP agenda is the opposite of MAGA.

They have spent 30 years making America into North Mexico.

It may be dead, but still moves about as a reanimated corpse, a zombie, tattered flesh and clothing falling from it as it proceeds with jerks and twitches.

The reconstitution of the Whig Party of the 19th Century.

Exactly. The second I read it I thought, of course he did, and so did 75 million voters, possibly more! York is just another snake lured out of from under his rock by the greatest President since Gen. Washington.

I’ve suspected for years that many of the snakes in the GOP actually do vote for the ‘rats!

Perhaps it’s not dead, yet. But it’s definitely undergoing medical treatment, and if it doesn’t get rid of the RINO infection, it won’t survive. People like Romney are trying to kill it from the inside.
